If you take away his other 8 goals he scored (making him our 2nd highest scorer) it means he hasn’t scored for about 2 years.

Rubbish.

It's garbage isn't it? So often Bannan is the one that set up to he assist, eg the Sunderland 2nd leg, brilliant defence splitting pass to set Johnson free to assist the goal.

Bannan carried us into play offs 2nd half of last season

Bazza really took off (other than in his role as R2D2 in Empire Strikes back during the swamp scene) when Luongo came into the side.  Him, Byers and Bazza had an almost telepathic understanding.  We need to find the right foil but I've got no doubt he'll have his purple patch once we can find that optimal MF balance....

Spot on.

Him and Vaulks arguing like b uggery most of first half. All over the pitch relationships and link ups have to be good. That's why stability is usually important.

Works well with Byers. Maybe BB, Byers and Bakinson might work - all work hard, plenty of movement... be interesting to see what Moore settles on. Hope he dunt end up tinkering with it every match.

Bazza.

Love the guy but it might be time for him to play more of a supporting role in my opinion, help bring the other young talent along,I thought him and Hunty struggled today, credit to Palmer and Windass, ran there goolies off.

I think we will have enough to go up though. Not playing well but winning is something we've not seen for a long long time .

OK we've just sold him....who do you think we should replace him with...over to you

I do think we can be a bit one dimensional when he plays as everything goes through him. But there is no doubt he is technically the best player in this division, you just have to listen to the TV pundits raving about him.

He is getting older though and probably won’t play every game. For all he is a technical player he has always done an awful lot of running and that is going to be hard as he gets more into his mid 30s.  FDB and Adeniran are raw and nowhere near ready enough to replace him yet, but we have great strength in depth which can only be good.

With our midfield 6, we're not reliant on BB, this is hugely positive in a side where he has carried us for many years.

He'll have his great moments in the next season or 2 but its very encouraging that at 32/33 we have a future beyond Baz and we won't need to rely on him paying 50+ full games.

No elephant in the room Bannan is part of a strong midfield squad and cannot be considered an automatic selection. The same goes for the rest of the squad. We have genuine competition in all departments apart from strikers.

No ******** elephant and no ******** room! Totally agree with this post. At last we have quality players to bring on from the bench. Bannan has carried us for the last 3 seasons, he loves the club and he is our best player by a million miles. But now we have 6, yes 6 really good midfielders to choose from and he will continue to be a vital member of our team and squad even if he doesn’t play every week.

Still a bit worried about the centre of defence, Palmer is currently our best CB and RB.

Stockdale is solid though and a proper ****house.

Windass was good today as was Sow when he came on but Byers and Gregory changed the game for me. Not sure which one really did or maybe it was both.

This team is good enough to go up. Not Moore’s biggest fan but his changes on 60 minutes won us the game today.

See you at Peterborough, ground number 81 ( of the current lot ) for Devon Owl and another shitty Tuesday night drive from Exeter

Still the best player at the club by far. Our fan base at times is embarrassing

Any proof or is that just your opinion? What did you think of our midfield against Sunderland? Big strong..energetic..athletic..bazza is a legend but we need to evolve

The fact you’re asking for proof says it all.

Best player at the club.

Best player in the league.

Even the best players in the world have an off day.

Needs to understand that "play further forward" doesn't mean "stand next to their centre halves along with our strikers"

Still able to run a game like nobody else but we were crying out for him to come back and put a foot on the ball in the first half and he just couldn't get involved

I still believe Bannan is best used in a deep midfield role.

Taking the ball off the backline, keeping possession and picking out runners

It takes the pressure of our defenders, we control more of the game and concede less

Bannon is a great player how on earth does he pick out forward runners …. We don’t have any !!!!
