Books still in the oven cooking slowly

If he's as good at cooking the books as he is at baking a cake we'll be just fine.

I read it as referring to Moore and the recruitment team.

They have missed out on a few players but Moore and the recruitment team are getting on with the task in hand.

It is far from ideal but there is nothing they can do about the embargo.

I asked Dom the original question (see below) to which he gave that answer that has been posted to start this thread.

Are we still under an embargo until the wages are paid ?

Surely we will have missed out on good free transfers due to financial mess. Darren Moore must be frustrated with this even knowing the situation he walked into

So not once has he managed to file his accounts on time.

He is also now overdue his annual confirmation statement which takes 5 minutes to do and costs £13.

Careless, Clueless, Useless...

Actually the date of submission could have been on time, particularly if submitted by post, documents do not appear on that page the same day they are submitted.   Currently about 2 weeks delay on postal submission.

Why would anyone submit by post, especially if they knew the deadline was pending?

The desperation of some people to make excuses for this clown is just weird.

Im not making excuses for anybody.

I just don’t think there’s any need to exaggerate the situation to create even more negativity than there already is. I’m sure filing 2or3 days after the deadline is no big deal, in fact I’m betting we didn’t even get a letter from companies house about it but “he’s never filled the accounts on time” is the mantra. By the way the bottom 2 on my list were in Lord Manderic time, 1 a day before the deadline, 1 13 days after, it happens. Our office missed an email from the accountants asking for information to complete the confirmation statement hence it was submitted a week late, no big deal, no extra cost, no punishment.

Why are Moore and co putting a plan together on who we want if we can’t do anything.

its like us making a list of things we would buy if we won the lottery, we then give ourselves a slap and the list collects dust.

What else can they do?

So. We file the accounts to EFL on(or prob before I'm told )July 30.

Then we can put pen to paper on the deals lined up.

It's quite simple.

If we're waiting until 30th July, makes pre season a little pointless, if any new players aren't going to be involved?....going into a new season with half the squad prepared and the new players without a pre season, then needing to catch up physically and tactically.

DC's MO is to faff about and sit on his hands.

Sacking mangers, hiring managers, signing players, selling players, negotiating contracts, selling the stadium, filing the accounts, producing a football shirt.

DC takes an absolute age to get things done. Don't expect it to change.

There is so much wrong with this club and its senior management at the moment but this isnt one of them.

We cannot be under an embargo as we are a League One club and we havent broken any rules.

If Dom Howson could understand the rules then he would see that they say when the accounts have to be submitted to the EFL not to Companies House. How does he know that they havent been submitted to the EFL. Previously the accounts were signed off in November and December and not submitted to Companies House until late February.

BTW they have to be submitted on paper and cannot be submitted electronically. If anyone checks until last year they were submitted on time they are date stamped.

Would you mind popping down to Hillsborough to let them know, so they can crack on with all the signings then, please?
