I’d just like to be the first to say he’s shít and I never wanted him anyway

Your username tells me that when it comes to spotting quality in a left-back you are at the top of the tree 🤣

Cultured left back with fantastic left foot who takes great set-piece.

However there is a question about his ability to defend and how he would fit into team that doesn't play Crewe's brand of passing football.

How often have you watched him train and play for Crewe to gain this insight ? Asking for a friend

Come on guys, this would be just the type of signing many have been suggesting, a young talent from the lower leagues Can’t say I know too much about him, but lots on here have been putting his name forward We give the club lots of stick about our transfer policy, but this has to be a step in the right direction no? Of course it’s far from certain that we’ll get him, but a younger talent from the lower league, that actually addresses a position of need? It’s a step in the right direction surely

Well said Sir

What a strange question... What, now you need to see them train to form opinion on a player ?!

i never watched him train, but watched him play 8-12 times. Quite sure it is more more than our scouts did.

I know our scouts have been watching Crewe for a while and was led to believe were interested in right back Ng. Think you will find Downes and his pal are very capable individuals and if left to them our recruitment would pick up no end.

I agree with your observations on Pickering. However he has good pace and this always enables a defender to overcome areas of weakness. In modern day football the majority of full backs are more orientated towards attacking than defending. If you look at very top level, Alenander-Arnold, James, Chilwell, all better attacking than defending.
