Looks like Spurs fans spent £20,000 in Orients club shop yesterday, seems like buying Orient kit in kids size which Orient will donate to charity partners. There's also mention that the EFL might pay Orient thier payment for the missed game too. All's well that ends well then. Not defending EFL but forfeit for not fulfilling a fixture is poor and expected this punishment. Think it will happen a few more times this season. Think EFL giving them the money would be the right thing to do.

Musn't Grumble
Football clubs will be incredibly lucky to avoid one or more fourteen day quarantine periods this coming winter. And if the EFL's response is to award matches rather than reschedule, the league tables will be as interesting as the court cases.
Quist
It will be interesting if PL club have Covid outbreak and can not complete a game and see how it is dealt with.
Blatter
Has anybody considered which Championship club would be worst affected if they forfeit games and therefore points if they fail to fullfil due to COVID.
nevthelodgemoorowl
What does this mean for the smaller clubs ? Probably 150 staff required for match and pre match training. Two tests per week at £120 a chuck that equates to an unaffordable number for the small clubs. The EFL and FA need to take on board at least some of the responsibility of care. The uncomfortable point is Hull turned down West Ham’s offer of tests and their game obviously went ahead. Like others have said, Orient have been punished for doing the right thing. I get it’s in League Cup rule that unfulfillment is automatic forfeit, but hopefully some see’s sense and pays them the money lost. It worked out at 10% of their losses from Covid too.

According to their chairman they have two squads training apart currently incase this happened. Local health authority weren’t satisfied with that though and called the game off.
mildatheart67
I knew Kane had been in news relating to Orient What a top bloke doing that. In the Wigan situation former manager Roberto Martinez and a few of the ex players have also chipped in to help the club.
mildatheart67
Hull not doing testing seems very off,but then again it's a basket case of a club.

The only way is S6
When I saw the thread title I thought; wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve fined them. Almost as daft as what they’ve done though. Should have flipped a coin. Can’t punish LO. They’ve been unlucky enough. What happens if EFL headquarters gets infected? They might be more sympathetic to a club’s problems then.

mildatheart67
Nope, got a full season to rearrange the league game. The next round of the League Cup is next week. More to point in the rules relating to the League Cup,they broke them. Intet that the EFL have accepted what the health authority said ,remember ages back that Blackburn did not choose to fulfill a fixture due to I'll health, got docked points and ultimately got relegated that season
mildatheart67
As for any premier league bitching about being short of players..world's smallest violin starts playing. There's self interest of course in Prem teams wanting to be sure there mega expensive players are not playing infected players during these cup games. Would it surprise anyone that Newcastle refused to pay for the Fleetwood Town to be tested?
