A one season wonder.

Same as Wilson.

And a penalty shootout away from going back to Wembley in his second season? So how was he a one season wonder? How close have we got to promotion since?

It was his substitution that sent that match to extra time and pen ********.

And never forget the ill defined roles in the shootout.

What, taking Fletcher off because he was injured? What was he supposed to do?

Not sure what ill defined roles you speak of, but I know we had a squad really struggling with injuries and missed some key players, just like Brighton did the season before that people like to forget when we played them.

Who was it that threw away the game at Huddersfield, then in the 2nd leg did not have the authority over the players to name the penalty takers?.

Like I said, a one season wonder.

Do you think players ever deserve any blame for a performance/result, or is it always solely the manager?

There was nothing unusual about the way we approached that penalty shootout. No manager would ever force a player to take a penalty if they were really low on confidence. Again, I think you should re-consider who you put the blame on.

A few converted penalties away from matching the achievement of the 'one season wonder'...

Indeed - I will never understand this campaign to discredit a manager who got us closer to returning to the Premier League (twice) than we've ever been. I think we're in for a number of years of misery, and that was as good as it's going to be for a long time, unfortunately.

It's not a campaign, its fait accompli.

I like the bloke and he didn't do a bad job, but he doesn't half bang on about how he 'nearly' reached the Premier League with us, ignoring the fact that we spent millions while trying to do so!

Agreed, sadly I think it's the closest we'll get for a long long time though and we should look to have positive memories where we can...

Yeah, nothing to do with half our squad crippled with injuries.

If went to game you could see Huddersfield were not that good and instead of pressing for winner his tactics were to hang on hoping to win a penalty shootout Carlos was a discrace that night

I went to every game that season thanks..

If you think about it more you could consider our injury crisis and the effect that had on our performance and the options available to us.
