Carlos is at it again..

Recommended Posts

So in summary..

We are where we are right now ...

If this was an installation job the engineer would be brought back to sort the mess he'd created out, but hes not working for the company anymore.

He wasnt a very good engineer in the first place anyway .....

Always a problem finding a very good Engineer ....

They are always looking for  better Employment.....

This is shockingly shallow understanding of his reign here.

At a bare minimum, you should understand WHY he was hired (out of utter anonymity) and why he has no business coaching a build-up, which is where the club is now positioned.

and probably wouldn’t have an interest in doing so. That wasn’t even his brief

He should have been given his p45 after the Uddersfield play off shambles.

he shouldn't have been set on, even then he should have been sacked after the wembley 'no show'.

Christ only knows who was influencing dc at the time?

Because he knows he's a great salesman

He can keep repeatedly telling everyone he's the greatest and eventually some poor sap will believe him

i can see what you're saying, but sadly for us we appear to be the last set of dumplings to go for it, swansea were in a desperate situation when they set him on for a last throw of the dice, but as far as a serious contract, it's US.

i do wonder IF swansea had survived what would have happened in the longer term re carlos, also I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIM IN CHARGE AGAIN IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP, as he's a good laugh, but sadly that rubs off on the club that employs him, and thus sides won't do it.

only one lot were daft enough.

I'd like to see him back in the Championship too

He's a real character

I wouldn't let him anywhere near my club if I was a chairman but from the outside he's worth watching for his cheeky press conferences where he tells everyone how popular and successful he is

6th and 4th in the championship. 90 minutes away from the premier league and almost out of the wilderness for the first time in years with the type of football I’d not seen since the Atkinson years.

If I were offered all this again but with us jumping the final fence, I’d take it and if in your opinion that makes me shallow then so be it?

Could he reach 6th, 4th and a playoff finals with this current squad?

it's utter childish to say that, no one could guarantee anything when they take over.

he bottled wembley when up against a manager who had his number, Christ only knows what label you can attach to the 'uddersfield debacle?

we had a crippled, unbalanced squad by the end.

Well obviously that’s a very good question and one I can’t answer but I think tactically he’s flexible so I think he would define a system to get the best out of the current squad?

I think the likes of Iorfa, Borner and Luongo would flourish under his management and he would always play the best players available to him. He would have to perhaps manage fitness situations better but as a manager, your always learning so I would hope he would do that?

Plus he’s got charisma and in my experience managers with this have always more often than not succeeded here than the ones without.

And what have we got now? Yes, he obviously made mistakes but results wise and what do managers say, you’re always judged on your results. His are the best achieved by a manager here in donkeys years by a country mile but you’re going to turn round and say I’m wrong, so what’s the point of me even debating this with you?

Don’t think Carlos is as good a manager as some make out.

Thought the first season was fuelled by excitement and a feel good factor the club hasn’t seen in a long time. The second season after the Hull defeat saw this continue but not as much. Think most competent managers with a load of cash, confident and excited fans would have given it a good go, as we did.

Its the same when a new manger comes in, a buzz about the place and what follows is usually a good run, then reality sets in and things level off. Was only the same when DC came in and made wholesale changes, just on a bigger scale.

What we are seeing now is the come down, the hangover if you like. Restricted financially, low on confidence and the excitement of a new chairman and new money has well and truly wore off.

The way back up is for the chairman and the fans and overall the club, is to meet in the middle again, DC should (if allowed) make money available for decent players and a manager if we don’t stick with Monk, the fans need to 100% get behind the players and show some of the enthusiasm that we saw in the 15/16 & 16/17 season, Unfortunately neither are happening at the moment.

Put a bit of context on why his results were the best. Not one manager in 20 years had the sort of backing he’s bad. He wasn’t good enough with money, what on earth makes people think he’d be good without it...

I prefer this analogy

Carlos is the manager who planted grass seeds on a lovely new lawn in your garden, but after a couple of years, weeds and moss started to grow through the lawn. The lawn was very nice and pretty for a long time, but investigation showed that Mr Chansiri didn’t provide enough compost, soil and fertiliser to make the lawn last long enough

More like Carlos is the manager who planted grass seeds on a lovely new lawn in your garden, but after a couple of years, weeds and moss started to grow through the lawn.

So Carlos tried mowing the lawn but turned out he didn't really know how to. His lawnmower exploded, fell to pieces, and he sat there holding the parts in his hands looking bewildered at how to put it back together again
