Carlos is at it again..

Do you think players ever deserve any blame for a performance/result, or is it always solely the manager?

There was nothing unusual about the way we approached that penalty shootout. No manager would ever force a player to take a penalty if they were really low on confidence. Again, I think you should re-consider who you put the blame on.

A few converted penalties away from matching the achievement of the 'one season wonder'...

No player would have dared to refuse take a penalty under a stronger manager.

Yes , players should take their share of responsibility, then as now.

I think a big problem in the second season was our inability to adapt well enough to teams becoming more defensive against us. We had that surprise factor in his first season, and I don't think teams thought we were that good and tried to take us on. We were more respected in his second season, and teams played more defensively against us, we struggled with that. Although we did finish higher up the table, it wasn't as fun to watch for sure.

It started in Carlos's 1st season, when Rovrum, under warlock, did a good job of bullying our midfield at Hillsborough, we were never the same team after that.

The next season some one asked me how to beat Wed's, I said "All you have to do is put pressure on our mid field and you would get a result", and it's been the same ever since

Didn't help that he wasn't backed to bring in the players he wanted for his last season, but yeah, it was miserable towards the end and it was time to move on.

But he said that he had the last word on who came here.

Why?  What about him convinced you that he's up for a build job here?

He coasted by on some pre-made veterans and when things went pear-shaped, he had neither the skill or tactical nous to reverse course.

He took over a fit, well organised team from Gray.

Went down hill from there in those aspects of the game.

Hutchinson had only good words to say about him in that interview the other night.  Seems Carlos was/is an excellent man manager.  Got the best out of Hutch and Westy.

I'm personally not surprised he nearly kept Swansea up when they looked dead and buried, and is doing so well at little Rio Ave.  Portugal have 3 clubs who are much bigger than Wednesday.... Sporting Benfica and Porto.   For Rio to be 5th is a tremendous achievement.

As much as I enjoyed him being here, it rarely works when a manager has a second go at it

Especially without a £30 million budget. There's a valid argument that he perhaps should have done better than the play-offs with the resources thrown at the squad.

I think it's unfair to blame the outcome of one game on the manager, though, however important that game was. The trouble for me was that the "success" of his first two seasons pretty much paved the way for where we are today (and obviously the Chairman has to share the blame)

Said it loads of times ... I dont think the intention was to go up that season more to bed the players in then go from there, but once promotion was on the cards of course they had to for it.

If CC had done his reign in reverse order, ending his last season at Wembley then he might be looked up on differently.

In my opinion the reason we had so many injuries was because the players were totally unfit. Like him or loathe him Jos was correct on identifying that straight away when he took over.

Where they fit enough in the first 2 seasons though? serious question. If they weren’t in the 3rd why not. Surely Carlos didn’t change?

He made a list that was handled by those above him.

I suspect some were outside of the financial requirements so didn't make the cut.

He then had a say in the final signings, he didn't hand pick every player he wanted...

You’ve already proved how ignorant you are with your comment about Fletcher getting substituted in the playoffs, there wasn’t any need for an equally ignorant and stupid comment

Exactly, doesn’t mean we got who he wanted.

The 1st season under carlos, yes, because he inherited  a fit and organised squad from Gray, the 2nd season the lack of fitness began to show, in his 3rd season it was obvious they were not fit enough.

Pre-seasons on their Jollies in Portugal did not help.

Fact remains the most successful time we’ve had during the Chansiri era is when Carlos was manager. I’d be amazed if the Chairman doesn’t go down a similar route very soon?

This is shockingly shallow understanding of his reign here.

At a bare minimum, you should understand WHY he was hired (out of utter anonymity) and why he has no business coaching a build-up, which is where the club is now positioned.

Fletcher was injured so had to go off. How come there's people that still don't know this?

Cos he’s an idiot mate!
