We turned our back on him the minute Fletcher's number went up on the subs board in the play off semi....its as simple as that Carlos you negative chump

Fletcher was injured so had to go off. How come there's people that still don't know this?

I went to every game that season thanks..

If you think about it more you could consider our injury crisis and the effect that had on our performance and the options available to us.

He bottled it like he did with Swansea's relegation fight when called upon he was sadly lacking

It's easy to have rose-tinted spectacles when looking at Carlos. Easily our best manager since the premier league (not counting Bruce because he went and ruined it by leaving us prematurely).

Trouble is, we should've attacked Huddersfield in the play-offs first leg instead of playing for a draw. We were the better team, we should've dominated them. We were on the back foot in the second leg because they could just sit back and defend for a draw.

At his best, under Carlos it was exciting brilliant football. At his worst, it was too negative. And that was the problem.

The fact we still talk about Carlos just shows that everyone misses him and those two years. We’ve not had anything like it in 20 years.

People come on here and love to slag him off but it’s just like when a lass breaks up with you and you pretend you weren’t arsed and didn’t really fancy her anyway. But in reality you’re absolutely heartbroken.

Admit it Carlos haters, it’s been 3 years and you can’t get over him.

lol

I think a big problem in the second season was our inability to adapt well enough to teams becoming more defensive against us. We had that surprise factor in his first season, and I don't think teams thought we were that good and tried to take us on. We were more respected in his second season, and teams played more defensively against us, we struggled with that. Although we did finish higher up the table, it wasn't as fun to watch for sure.

I was amongst the last few on here to want Carlos out...but to be honest I had to admit in the end he had lost it.

Whatever reasons were behind that...I don't know...but the whole thing was looking like it was coming offa the rails...It wasn't an attempt at rebuilding or owt..It looked like a disorganised mess

Didn't help that he wasn't backed to bring in the players he wanted for his last season, but yeah, it was miserable towards the end and it was time to move on.

Carlos was a great manager when things were going well, charismatic, engaging and brought a feel good factor...but when the pressure increased he crumbled big time. It became painful to watch, the £20 press conference summed it up.

It was similar at Swansea, started well, became a media darling then when the tide turned he just lost all composure. Guess that’s why his CV reads as it does.

...that first season was great though (up ‘til PO final), felt like we got Goal of the Month every month too (or was that the season after)?

It will be interesting to see how he does if he comes over here again, I imagine a lot of Championship teams would happily give him a go based on his first two seasons here.

Even in his first season his 'flagship' season if you like some of our away performances were simply shocking.

Carlos says he could have gone to the PL that first season who were the clubs then?

Swansea had been interested in him for a long time I believe.

Hope Carlos gets a 2nd spell here if/when Monk goes.

Why?  What about him convinced you that he's up for a build job here?

He coasted by on some pre-made veterans and when things went pear-shaped, he had neither the skill or tactical nous to reverse course.
