I’ve been Westwood’s biggest fan and he’s been brilliant for Wednesday, but he needs dropping!

I want to see Monk being ruthless dropping the likes of Westwood for individual mistakes and also addressing our mental fragility. Palmer should also spend some time out of the team after his suspension.

But the replacement is markedly worse

It might seem reactionary (although, mistakes week after week, make that argument a tad weaker), but there is no doubt, there is serious, glaring issues creeping into Westwood's performances.

He's declining. That's natural, he's getting on, and he's not the fittest specimen we've ever had either, with the number of injuries he's had perhaps catching up with him.

And despite his decrease in performances, there's no getting away what a fantastic servant he's been for us.

However, a criticism labelled at the club for a number of years, has been the inability to see a depreciating asset and plan for it. Westwood now falls into this category. And there has to be a serious consideration by Monk, to think long term. Whether that's Dawson, Wildsmith or if he feels neither of those two are up to it, A. N. Other. But, the goalkeeping situation is going to need addressing...soon.

It makes little sense to keep playing a 35 year old goalkeeper who continues to make regular game changing mistakes. The rumours of Dawson potentially leaving for nothing is another worrying sign. There's little point producing these promising youngsters, if we block their development...even when the experienced incumbent isn't performing.

And regarding yesterday's goal, of course, the source of the issue comes from Palmer. Palmer does his job, and the penalty doesn't happen. But, there's no getting away from the fact, Westwood has made yet another rash decision. The challenge took place on the edge of the box, wide of the goal. It was a rash and careless decision. No getting away from that.

No use talking sense on here. Our fans have their favourites and no matter what they will be idolised. KW the best keeper in the league, any championship manager would want BB in his team, FF is the best player in the league are all phrases that keep cropping up which shows just how much we live in the past. Leeds sold/released 15 players at the start of this season, had we sold FF a few years ago the fans would have had a meltdown, some are still complaining now about us releasing hooper.

It’s no wonder we accept mediocrity and have a terrible record of bringing youth players through with this kind of attitude.

Our Academy does not produce players of Championship standard let alone Premier league standard.

We are far too conventional in our selection of youngsters.

Teams like Charlton Southampton and SUFC have contiually brought through players of Premier league standard in recent years and in some cases higher still.

We just gave West Brom a game at their place and deserved at least a point.

Still, let the drama commence.

And came away with f*ck all thanks to Westwood

As has been said before, Dawson would get slated on here for weeks if he did that

Spot on Todwick Owl.

Westwood who used to be a great keeper but he came charging out and a penalty was inevitable.

It was a repeat of his dreadful error at Reading earlier this season

His mind just seems to go haywire and he never seems to learn.

THe WBA player still had a fair bit to do to score but the rush of blood by Wesrtwood cost us a point that we really deserved yeterday.

Pretty simple really...

Palmer has a moment and should never have left that ball, however; no goalkeeper should be coming out like Westwood did.

It was another rush of blood to the head and another error on his part.

Two gaffes against Swansea and part of another one yesterday.

It is costing us points.

Is Dawson the answer? I don't know, but it is getting to that point where he has to be considered.

I thought Westwood displayed poor judgement for both goals, although penalty was particularly bad.  It’s starting to look like Jos might have called this one right - perhaps the club should have stuck with Dawson and taken the opportunity to reduce the wage bill at the end of last season.  As it stands we have a keeper with a contract until 2021 who is looking increasingly like a liability.

Westwood charging two years ago would have got that comfortably.

A few years later after injuries and age not on his side he needs to accept he won’t get these now.

He did it against Reading, did it yesterday and even coming to challenge balls into the area, a few years ago no problem but this season he’s not comfortable, he’s certainly not agile enough for this anymore.

He needs to listen to his body and change the way he makes a decision. Still a great keeper in him but he needs to adjust.

In the mean time I’d give Dawson a go.

Berate Westwood as much as you want, the so called defending from Iorfa and Palmer is nothing short of embarrassing.

This hypocrisy is ridiculous.

You’re happen to ignore an error by someone who’s “idolised.”

Yet willing to throw two other players under the bus.

Palmer was the main culprit in the goal...no getting away from that. But Westwood’s rashness shouldn’t be excused, nor ignored.

But it’s what happens. Certain players will get the blame regardless, others seem to be as excusable as Boris Johnson.
