Player of the Month

Might not be about a sob story, but it could be about using our support to add value to the team. Fox is a player who could benefit from a confidence boost from fans, given the criticism he’s received in the past. Therefore he got my vote.

I would argue that players who have put in the best performances getting rewarded is better for the team as a whole than a little tap on the head for poor old Morgan

Not slating Fox but in no way has he had a better month than

Iorfa

Borner

Hutchinson

Bannan

Luongo

Fletcher

Palmer

While Fox has performed very well and hopefully proven his critics wrong for the rest of the season, of the 5 matches we played in the month of October, he featured in only 3. So I've gone with Iorfa. Given how much he's grown into the cb position, much to the surprise of probably most of us, it seems the sensible choice.

According to the Owlstalk hive mind (aka the 'player ratings' thread), the man of the match for each game in October was a follows...

Hull - Börner

Wigan - Börner

Cardiff - Börner

Stoke - we didn't have a proper vote, but a quick scan through the 'ratings' thread shows Fox and Luongo getting the most mentions for man of the match

Leeds - Iorfa

Looks like Börner should be a shoe-in to me.

Voted for Iorfa, been immense. Perhaps we should come up with a new category "most improved player" and award it to Fox.

Think Iorfa would win that too. Never convicted by him at RB but he has been great at CB.

From being an average RB to being on the cusp of an England call up and a 30 million move to Bournemouth is improvement in my book.

DC holding out for 40 million before he would consider selling!

Iorfa has been great but I feel Fox deserves it.

After some of the dogs abuse he's has in the past, he's been brilliant the last few games and think it'll do him good to show he's been recognised for it.

I went for Iorfa but I can completely agree that the recognition would do Fox a power of good. He really has been quality since he came back in. I'm hoping he can go from strength to strength now he's getting a bit of love. Anyone booing him when he's in this form needs to take a serious look in the mirror.

Last few games he's been better than Palmer for my money. The others you can make a case for. It's probably the hardest choice we've had to make for a long while.
