Bez
On Companies House, the original club was Sheffield Wednesday PLC. This was replaced by Sheffield Wednesday Football Club Ltd in 1990, which is currently owned by Chansiri. Does that mean we are now only 29 years old and a relatively young club? MattOwl34
No, because Sheffield Wednesday are/is a "brand", a 150 year old brand. Changing from a PLC to an LTD is just a change in the set up. The only thing that is 29 years old is the Companies House LTD file for us.
Sonny
That’s right yes, we formed as a PLC in 1867 and that was then replaced by the Limited company in 1990. Yes

No, we aren't. 29 years ago we formed a company called Sheffield Wednesday Football Club Ltd, and passed all the assets to that new company, from the PLC. The PLC was then used to avoid paying tax (for the Directors). It's simply a shell company with no assets, to my knowlegde. AFAIK, the PLC still exists. It was stiff as a... well it stuck out like one if u didn't bend it thru the loops. It was also to big and I had to put 2 holes in it with a screwdriver. I've had it 29 years now and it's as floppy as a .... mind, if I breathe in and hold my breath I can just about still use the 2 screwdrivered holes (For a minute or so) Not too shabby. Tho the belt is!
