PopePiusX
Andy Pearce (gets the ball and scores a gearce) scored from about forty-five yards with a header for Coventry once. I mean obviously that wasn't for us, but he did. Edited September 3, 2018 by PopePiusX

basegreenowl
Harkes was a belter from distance. Header? I remember an outrageous header by Lee Chapman one Boxing Day at Hillsborough. Carl Bradshaw hit some long ball across field and Chapman got daft height to it, stuck nut on it, and it looped over the Newcastle keeper (Budgie maybe) from way out. Roeder was marking Chapman. No video record of it now regrettably same as David Hirst's horizontal bullet header in a FA cup tie at Barnsley which we won 1-2 in the 80s from a Zico cross.... Assuming Wednesdays half-way line is 55 yards. Wednesday reserves were up against Barnsley Reserves. Wednesday won 14-0 a lad called Alan Ogley was in their goal as Wednesday attacked the Kop in the first half. Trailing 6-0 as the embers of the first half ticked away Ogley used is area to punt the ball down field. Little Bobby Craig was about 2 or 3 yards in his own half when he met the ball and headed towards the Kop. Ogley, who was having a mare failed to react as the bounce of the ball beat him and ran into the net on the third or fourth bounce to leave the half time score at 7-0. The Owls went on to add another 7 in the second half. So little Bobby Craig netted a 57 yard header...It never featured in the Green-Un . Lazy Journo's then too. Used to do HT reports for junior, Reserve and none League games. But excluding Craigs effort the report fizzled out to ….. Latest Wednesday 6-0 Barnsley. Well done Bobby Craig. OWLERTON GHOST
Not by a Wednesday player .. But nontheless a stunning goal at Hillsborough. . 1972 Autumn Owls v Burnley think we were top Burnley 2nd .. Leighton James despatched a left peg worldy. still see it now from the crows nest to the kop end ..it was for many years the opening goal on the credits for Match of the Day along with Ernie Hunts belter and Ronnie Boyces Rocket in the mud at Main Road (corrigans mud bath) Hunts and Boyces goals are on You Tube but sadly can't find James stunner at S6

Deepcar_lights
Best Wednesday goal of all time was Di Piedi overhead kick. outrageous distance for the overhead....Maybe not the best, OK definitely NOT but sticks in my mind for some reason. I desperately wanted that player to be good. Strange times.

Treborowl
Apologies if this has already been suggested but Didn't Martin Hodge once with a clearance ? It might have bee against Steve Ogrizovic - Coventry, at Hillsborough. Or was it Pressman? Memory's going a bit.

Just to clarify this and a few other queries: Steve Ogrizovic scored for Coventry at Hillsborough in October 1986, past Martin Hodge. The game finished 2-2.
