@owlstalk
Owls striker Atdhe Nuhiu has been selected to represent Kosovo in the coming international break. The Sheffield Wednesday forward will be in the squad for two friendly games that will take place in Paris later this month. Kosovo face Madagascar at Stade Jean Rolland, Franconville on Saturday 24 March. Three days later, Kosovo take on Burkina Faso at the same venue. Nuhiu’s most recent call-up to the national squad last November saw the 28-year-old play a key role in a landmark victory for Kosovo. Trailing 3-2 to Latvia, Kosovo hit back to win 4-3 with goals in the 86th and 94th minute to dramatically seal their first ever victory on home soil. Nuhiu was introduced from the bench with 15 minutes remaining and helped force the equaliser. His towering header on 86 minutes was pushed away from goal before team mate Elbasan Rashani followed up on the rebound. Then, deep into stoppage time, Nuhiu controlled neatly in the box before cutting inside and sending a low strike past the goalkeeper and against the post before Besar Halimi smashed home the rebound. Brommers
Madagascar! Do they play football or is it just a team of Ring-tailed Lemur's mucking about?
Westfield Owl
Well done Atdhe. Deserves it for his form over the last 2 months, after being used so sparingly for the first half of the season.

abdiwonderland
So he should have scored both goals? If he wasn't so crap he'd be a national hero. I'm only messing, I love NUNU!

On a related note, I wonder what happens when he's the analyst next season (Sky would have sacked him immediately if they really wanted him gone) and there's a spitting incident? If you want a Scouser not to spit, Kosovo vs Madagascar is a cruel matchup to give them.

That has to be in their thought-process. Spitting at an oponent who who has just taken half an inch of your shin is bad enough, but it’s on another level entirely to wind your window down from the comfort of your leather-upholstered 4x4 cos a ****** is teasing you. Tough climb back back for him. Edited March 14, 2018 by Holmowl
