Can't see Jos making too many changes from the pigs game. The team did really well there, I wouldn't disrupt it.

Interesting to see if we stick with the back three and who replaces Loovens. Could be Thorniley as he was on the bench at the Sty ahead of the lads who played in midweek. Also Jones just had one of his best games in a Wednesday shirt so would be harsh to drop for Joey who's only joining in training today for the first time. The only unenforced change I'd consider making is dropping Rhodes. Thought he was the one player who had a poor game against United and it happens too often. Nuhiu and Matias should both be confident after the other night too. Would also Iike to get Hunt and Boyd in there but I think the team from last Friday deserves another crack.

Wildsmith

Thorniley

Venancio

Pudil

Palmer

Wallace

Jones

Reach

Fox

Joao

Rhodes

Dawson, Nielsen, Hunt, Pelupessy, Boyd, Matias, Nuhiu

Wondering now if the fact that we’ve:

a) only got two senior fit CBs and

b) just signed Pelupessy

will mean that Jos will revert to his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation, something along the lines of ...

              Wildsmith

Palmer Venancio Pudil Fox

     Pelupessy   Jones

Wallace/Matias Boyd Reach

               Joao

I'd go with:

------------------Wildsmith-------------------

-------O'Grady---Venancio-----Pudil-------

Palmer-----------------------------------Reach

------Wallace-----Jones------Boyd-----------

--------------Nuhiu-------Joao-----------------

That left wing back role is made for Reach. He'd give us a real threat and energy down that left flank, that I think Fox struggles with.

O'Grady looked very assured on Tuesday night. He reads the game brilliantly. Naturally right footed, he looked a tad awkward playing on the left side, so moving him across to right centre half so help him in that aspect. I think he has played in midfield a few times for the Under 23's, and his composure on the ball will help him to bring the ball out, like Pudil will do on the opposite side.

If Hunt is fit, I'd play him. However, I think he's probably unlikely to play two 90 minutes in a week after coming back from injury. Palmer played alright last Friday, and it would be harsh to drop him.

Wallace played well last Friday and deserves to keep his place. Boyd looked sharp and very much back to fitness on Tuesday night. I'd play him in the spot left by Reach. Jones has been terrific in the last two games, he'll sit and dictate things from deep. Under pressure from the competition created by the Pelupessy signing.

Rhodes was the only performer who failed to deliver on Friday, Nuhiu took his opportunity on Tuesday. He gets the nod to start up front alongside Joao.

Would probably go with this as well its good to see the young lads doing well at centre half and think three at the back is the long term solution but dont feel a game against a warnock team is the right time for them. Neither venancio ogrady or pudil are physical enough to cope and we could struggle here so would just stick with a four so as not to over complicate things.

Would keep wallace in after his united performance matias has yet to show enough to be starting a league game would keep him and nuhiu as plan b and bring them both on together up front later on in the game if needed.

Pelupessy would be a gamble but would be nice to see some mobility in that position and new signings often get through the first game OK.
