19owl08
On the subject of Dunk... he picked up his 10th yellow card the other night. He is now suspended until the game against us. No surprise that he picked up that 10th booking in the 94th minute meaning he misses cup game against MK Dons & then game at Preston before returning to play us & Newcastle. We know how physical they can be & maybe one or two will pick up a knock.

They have to go up this season or they will fail FFP next year and be thoroughly up the swanny. LiamK2292
Brighton showed exactly why they have a mean defence. Dunk and Duffy are excellent and they're efficient up top, something we lack. We had to do what they did post-season. Make a few signings, mainly starters and take it from there. They strengthened in the areas that needed strengthening. We didn't do that. debram
We have no problem keeping clean sheets, its the drive and urgency going forward that's the problem

We are so slow and ponderous getting the damn thing forward when at home. So often the balls is passed sideways or backwards, by which point any space has gone and as a result we end up punting the thing. This in turn allows teams to get themselves back into position defensively. I've also noted a lot of teams (Wolves did it on Monday) pushing/pressing up when we do have the ball. Another thing that has deserted us is our pressing. Last season we were pretty good at getting the ball back and pressing at the right time. Now we just drop off into our own half. Funnily enough Brighton's first goal (at Hillsborough this season) came as a result of us dropping off. Lewis Dunk (who is like a flipping Giraffe) was allowed to pretty much walk into our half and then play a pass to Baldock who scored. Rogerwyldesmullet
We shouldn't let the play off result fool us in that they were 15 points better than us over last season and with all else being equal, due to more astute transfers will be about 23 better off this time around by the end of the season which I think will bring them 100 points. Two seasons ago Hughton steadied the ship after the loss of Ulloa and the ineptitude of Hyppia and showed what he could do with a full preseason and a clarity of purpose. Well done. Love Carlos but he should take note that at Hillsboro he needs to mix route one with style / pace with physicality like Brighton do and like we've done successfully at away games @ Fulham and Newcastle

Do the refs do their homework about last minute bookings? I bet he was on his last warning for ages, with the ref thinking he was doing him a favour before he actually got the card out...never mind we can only play what is in front of us. WhiteOwl91
Simple, Brighton have had a few more seasons of their project than we have with ours. That's why they're better than us.
