He said we wouldn't see the benefit until a few years later. Tbh it's true. Enjoyed the league one run and style of football. Then he became obsessed with animals and his mind had gone. His mistake was not believing that the team had momentum and he could make a few small changes to give us a good follow up season. Jones did very well here, but is living proof that if the fans don't like you, you haven't got a prayer. Don't think he believed in the promotion side enough, they weren't amazing footballers but they were a good solid unit. Madine had scored 20 goals the season prior and he never played him. Stuck with Bothroyd who could not be arsed. Refused to play O'Grady even though every time he played he scored and went on loan to Barnsley in the same league where he continued to score. He resurrected it in January by going back to basics and just making us solid with Prutton in midfield. Signed a good striker in Lita at the time. Then absolutely terrible until he got sacked, he just couldn't be arsed at that point. Thought his attitude by the end was disgraceful tbh. Had clearly given up and was just waiting for his P45.
