Whether we are nearing our FFP limit, I don't know. But, DC was likely to face a financial investment dilemma at some point. Without the resources of teams coming down, was always gonna take big bucks to get us up in the near future. He's done half a job; finish it, or we stop where we are. You can't bank on overachieving. Occasionally it happens, as with Burnley, but it's very difficult.

The penalty is an embargo. Not a fine that is not an option.

 

Ask yourself this. Are the FL going to fine a club they are stating have already spent to much. Fines only apply, like Bournemouth, to teams that break the rules but go up.

 

Nixon genuinely has no idea about FFP.

It's so simple;

 

1 Play by the rules and spend limited money = not much chance of promotion.

 

OR 

 

2 Break the rules, spend what DC wants = good chance of promotion and SMALL fine if PL is reached/possible chance of staying in Championship followed by nasty transfer embargo to put the club back wit the likes of Forest, Fulham and Leeds (or worse like Bolton).

Guys, Nixon's been doing this many years with several different papers so he's clearly no mug.

 

But he's still no doubt used by clubs for their own ends and we seem to be talking down prices at present, by raising FFP now and last week CC suggesting we are skint (which he did before a couple of signings last season ).

 

Lack of Championship player moves suggests even relegated clubs won't pay these daft asking prices.

 

But soon the dominos will fall.

 

And anyway, aren't we already much stronger just by Fletcher's capture -  even without a natural left -back?

If Chansiri spent the money like alot want, and we end up in a embargo with fines.

 

People will go crazy saying back to square one, massive debt and we screwed and its Chansiri fault.

 

If we dont spend, Chansiri no ambition we will struggle all talk no action, boring and he wants out etc etc.....

 

 

 

The bloke can't win either way, if spending guarantees promtion he would spend. Life aint like that though, he's being prudent and making sure we don't fall foul to it and end up like Bolton, Forest, Blackburn.

You don't have to but you'll come out of the embargo quicker if you do. Forest hung on to Antonio etc thinking they already had a good enough team to ride out the embargo. Turned out they got a load of injuries but couldn't get anyone decent in to replace them before being forced to sell Antonio anyway. An embargo would be really bad. If you're not refreshing your squad then you're standing still waiting for a shït hand to be dealt.

Re-name Hillsborough the TUF Stadium before we get an embargo for me. 

It's Thai union Group now so would be Tug stadium which just doesn't sound right on many levels

Sorry if discussed before but with our 3 year season tickets our season ticket income money will only be about half next season.

This I presume will effect our FFP. What happens if we don't go up this season? Will we have to cut back on the playing staff next season?

The income from a 3-year season ticket is spread over 3 years in the accounts. We are creditors of the club, which is why they could not be bought with a credit card.

May have been covered in the 12 pages, but what are these "FFP penalties"? Isn't FFP based over 3 years and we are only 1 year into it? So, surely any punishment wouldn't come into force for another 2 years?

but look at the damage caused to Forest and Blackburn by an embargo? Chansiri is 100% correct to do this properly, even it that means it takes another year or two to get back up
