Socialist_Owl
As opposed to having a good coach, good players and a good set up? It's opposed to nothing. Absolutely part of, though. Diversifying income streams, globalizing your reach, broadening your fanbase, it's all more $$$ for SWFC if done right. The days of local, homespun clubs in the big leagues are over. The premier league organizations are mega corporations now. Edited January 24, 2016 by CaliforniaOwl
caw_owl
Ive always liked this badge for its retro look, but feels strange using for our current badge but... there could more to this than a simple badge change, feels to me (and hope) it could be a whole commercial positioning strategy. Using the whole 150 years, Sheffield being the birthplace of football, and who knows we could be the oldest club in the premier league before long. Gold is a significant colour in trying to show history and class. Imagine the whole club branded this way including a massive facelift to Hillsborough to match. Arthur Bach
If you want fussy look at QPR's new crest. Its retro in that it represents a coat of arms, but the professional design makes it sharp and modern. I think its strange... Ours however is SUPPOSED took almost amateur in its simplicity - rough around the edges.
Sonny
Do we want to be in the Premier League playing the Premier League game? Then yes, this is part and parcel of what goes along with being a bigtime club. Pretty sure the game is 'football' and not 'the design of certain badges that you like'. Guest Darkus Owlus
Seems the majority like it because of it's traditional values......that doesn't make it a good design. It's just dire....why has the owl got long eyelashes too? The owl is a flipping drag queen.

The premier league organizations are mega corporations now. And what bearing does the badge have on all of the above? A badge will bring no more fanbase, no more income. What will bring those things is a winning team. Have a look at Manchester United's badge. (They're possibly the biggest club in the world, in case you hadn't noticed).
