Elvin Parsnip
Rob Staton claimed he played for us in a behind-closed-doors friendly earlier in the week, so I presume he already is.What position does Staton play ? Can't believe CC is giving him a trial !
since59owe
Agree with a few saying start with nuhiu & joao upfront. A good chance for either one of them to show why they should be starting alongside hooper when ff plays Left mid. And a good chance for them to end their lack of goals. Yep
shandypants
Don't know about resting them all but certainly would let Hutch, Bannan and Fernando have a breather. Phenomenal efforts from these chaps of late. Resting the entire first eleven will also be good reward and encouragement for the second eleven IMHO. Guest Ellis Rimmer
I'd pick Dawson over Price
Stoop
We need to show Shrewsbury respect next week, remember what they did to the pigs earlier in the season? Price Palmer Loovens Sasso Bennett Helan Semedo Mcgugan Sougou Joao Bus
darklord
I would rest some players but not all. Losing might damage our confidence
parkfieldowl14
Shrewsbury aren't mugs, Dumped out Cardiff in the last round and got a good win today at top of the league Burton. Exactly. Also they were our bogie team in the 1980's.
The only way is S6
4th page & no picture of an owl on a branch with a dead shrew in it's claws! I'll trust in Pauli to deliver in the omdt next Satdy. Whoever we turn out should have enough to beat them. It's not arrogance, it's common sense given the position & players at the disposal of both clubs. More about attitude than quality.
London Owl
really hope we use this game to give Bus a run out.
BRADDO
I think we'll get beat. Average away form, 2nd 11, motivated opponents and CC not really prioritising the match
Stevelknievel
Although I agree with the sentiment, that the league is the priority, the fact players can't play twice in a week is quite pathetic. Someone mentioned earlier resting Westwood. He hasn't played for 2 months. Players get paid a kings ransom these days, and take the pisss. It's has nothing to do with how much they are paid or attitude/laziness. Anyone who is seriously in to fitness or has trained for say a marathon will understand, it's the cumulative effect intensive training has on the body, the stress it puts it under. Everytime you train you break muscle down which the body rebuilds, this muscle get tighter which makes it prone to injury. The catabolic/anabolic process uses energy making you physically tired and unable to be at your peak, hence the need for rest days etc. The level professional players play at means that the performance difference between a rested player and a physically stressed player is much greater. The above is the reason why footballer get injured so much more then a Sunday league player.
sherlyegg
So best not train then, cos you will be fitter if you don't
stanningtonowl
Rest Hunt, Loovens, Pudil, Bannan, Lee, Wallace,Forrestieri, and Hutchinson (no booking required). Play Helan as he'll want to show the team that released him what they dodged missed out on.
oldishowl
I worry when one of our players gets injured because they just seem to disappear never to be seen again. As a fan i have never felt more in the dark about when a player might be available to return to the team. Carlos says most are back training so surely this will be an opportunity for some of Lees Turner Matias Mcgugan Lopes etc to get game time
thewookieisdown
Agree, it was unthinkable pre 1998ish to change the team for the FA cup. Look what the 1992-1993 team did without even half of the squad size Errrrr, yes. Look indeed. It got overextended. We finished seventh. There were not six teams better than us that year. I don't say the strategy was wrong. But don't let's pretend the outcomes weren't a bit disappointing in the end.

OxonOwl
We should be able to play a "second" team good enough to beat Shrewsbury. The first eleven could do with a rest. We did against Newcastle

OwlAboutIt
Cup runs are fun but I really want to see us continue pushing in the league so I'll be hoping CC sees it as an opportunity to give some young uns some playtime and rest the key players for Burnley. If we lose then good on Shrewsbury and we can continue pushing for playoffs with fewer distractions.
