S36 OWL Posted May 25, 2014 Share Posted May 25, 2014 The happy clappers will love it when we have a threadbare squad for our first game of the season after we've signed three or four ordinary players by the end of July and we're fannying about offering peanuts for the ten goal-a-season striker after the twenty goal-a-season and fifteen goal-a-season strikers have been scooped up by the teams that pay the going rate. Do you honestly think he's the only chairman who gives out empty promises? While trying to sell season tickets is he going to be saying 'the aim is just to beat last season's finish', because that isn't going to put bums on seats is it.
