1867tons
I've met Gary Madine, I was having lunch with my wife and came in and sat on the table next to us. We had a great chat and photo (for my lad of course). Now I don't know him and that was just a snapshot of who he is but for me, It's welcome back Gary, you've done your time, hopefully learnt your lesson, go on to become a massive striker for the owls. Guest JonTheOwl66
This stuff about his 'attitude' being poor is absolute rubbish.
Simaniac Owl
Welcome back Gary, as others have said. He's done his time and if he's learned his lesson I wish him all the very best in proving some of the doubters including (including myself at times) wrong. Sinner
Stats from the start of last season up until the end of that December - (i've been kind in the time period of choosing these stats) Derby (A) - 34 mins - Came on as sub - 0 goals Birmingham (H) - 29 mins - Came on as sub - 0 goals Milwall (H) - 58 mins - Start - 0 goals Fulham (H) - 90 mins - Start - 1 goal (pen) Palace (A) - 30 mins - Came on as sub - 0 goals Huddersfield (H) - 45 mins - Start - 0 goals Southampton (A) - 90 mins - Start - 0 goals Burnley (A) - 8 mins - Came on as sub - 0 goals Hull (H) - 25 mins - Came on as sub - 0 goals Leeds (H) - 7 mins - Came on as sub - 0 goals Blackburn (A) - 90 mins - Start - 0 goals Ipswich (A) - 8 mins - Came on as sub - 0 goals Peterborough (H) - 22 mins - Came on as sub - 0 goals Middlesborough (A) - 90 mins - Start - 1 goal Forest (A) - 90 mins - Start - 0 goals Leicester (H) - 22 mins - Start - 0 goals Cardiff (A) - 57 mins - Came on as sub - 0 goals Bristol City (H) - 90 mins - Start - 1 goal Barnsley (A) - 57 mins - Start - 0 goals Charlton (H) - 87 mins - Start - 0 goals Huddersfield (A) - 25 mins - Came on as sub - 0 goals Plenty of opportunities there. Did nothing with them. Thoughts.....???? Just stats. I can't remember him ever having a decent run in the team where he started 6-7 games. He's not yet finished his development as a player so I think just listing his playing stats for a year when he had a court case hanging over him does anybody any good. It's up to Mandaric, Aldridge and Gray to decide if he's worth the risk and if they think he can be used to our benefit.
Guest owl from retford
Really hope he has learnt from this and becomes a better player and fella for it it was one act of stupidity as said before if he scores goals for us who cares

Stats that suggest he's had more than enough opportunities to prove himself at this level and they've not been taken.

Play him from the start and he'll give you 1 goal in 2 games. Edited February 20, 2014 by curran4england
Eightace
I don't like what he did but who has never done wrong. It wont harm the club if he stays.People wont stay away on principle because he smacked someone. I have my doubts he is good enough to command a place but we are a bit light up front so he's got to be worth another chance.
Errol Flashman
Stats... Eustace thought Westys stats warranted starts over Hirsty i seem to remember. Just a bloke. Bluesteel
He did have chances to play last season and many times he couldn't quite cut it. Although I remember him playing at home to Charlton and he was moving better on and off the ball, trying to take players on which was unusual but exactly the kind of thing he needs to be doing if he is to become a good championship striker. Then he was dropped. I think jones really missed a trick there. I've felt for a while that he'd end up maturing as a player after he left us and we'd become the fall guys. But perhaps this whole situation will work out for the best. If it doesn't then there are no what ifs
Guest blacktreacle
Goal machine to come off bench and score a late winner at lane! I can feel it.

Corneliusreeve
To be fair, no one was going to bang goals in from that turgid football. Now we are creating far more chances and wasting them. I think a fit Madine would do alright just now. The best point I've read in this thread so far.
Sinner
Exactly - stats. Stats that suggest he's had more than enough opportunities to prove himself at this level and they've not been taken. See, that's now an opinion. One that I disagree with.

Corneliusreeve
Paul Walker â€@Walkerpw 15m Stuart Gray visited Gary Madine before his release, felt it was important to have a chat with him. Gray spent a "good" hour with him #swfc And here you have the measure of SG and his man management skills.

Wednesday-Wonderland
He's done his time, clean slate as far as I'm concerned. I do worry about the company he keeps though, and think we should bin him off immediately if he puts a toe out of line again.
