Consistency

Recommended Posts

It's the only think that brings you promotion from the championship, and Brighton and Newcastle had it.

Now that Carlos is staying next season he needs to find consistency.

Consistency in a set formation - so all players are aware of how the team are expected to play.

Consistency in player positions - stop putting bannan on the wing. Decide whether forestieri is a striker or winger and play him in one set position. That way the players know exactly what is expected of them week in week out.

Consistency in starting 11 - firstly work out what our best starting 11 is (taking into consideration the above) and start them most weeks. We all know the season is demanding but we also know that players playing alongside each other regularly perform better. Keep rotation to a minimum

Doing the above might seem basic but if it's done correctly it inevitably leads to improved and consistent performances, something which we didn't have last season. Let's hope we have it this season ...

some hard work in the summer for CC & coaching staff

1. Who  do they wanna retain?

2. Who do they wanna get shut of?

3. Who do they wanna bring in?

4. What's best formation?

5. What's next best formation?

then maybe we can kick on for automatics or next best play offs

@CC might ease the pressure to allocate one coach to reading owlstalk - save a lot of time with the experts on here...........

We have to get our s**t together nice and early and hit the ground running come the start of the season. Its a tough league again this season but no tougher than this years, top 2 is there for the taking if we can get it right.

Sunderland and villa will fight tooth and nail to get back up. We have to turn up at every match, we can't lose to teams like burton.

I thought we were consistant last ten matches...8 wins one draw and a non match with Fulham...If we start like that next saeson we'll be up with a chance of a top two place...oh BTW anyone hear the commentators waxing lyrical about man U's " professional " job on Ajax last night...that's how we played in those last ten matches...food for thought eh!

That is the key to it: too many easy points thrown away last year. We have to be on top of our game in each match, whether we are playing at the Stadium of Light or some brewery backyard in the midlands.

Sure did, but they did bring home the silverware and we didn't

You seem to have forgot that there are another 23 or so teams in the league trying to stop us from playing and beat us. You can't be consistent when you have to adapt

But the difference is that Mouhrino didn't tear the winning team sheet up for the final. Our manager did just that.

When you have one of the most talented (and largest) squads you shouldn't have to adapt too much. Obviously there are occasions in a season where it is required but there should be a clear and effective 'Plan A'
