Argue against THIS

Recommended Posts

Just change football because it's currently 5hite.

Who cares if Liverpool or Man City win the title again. Who cares if somebody you've never heard of decides to go and play in China or Saudi Arabia instead(for about 5 minutes until they discover it's ****).

Who cares about VAR or Man Utd shareholders.

Feck parachute payments - feck journeymen Championship footballers earning millions of pounds a year - feck early birds, feck playing at half past twelvty because somebody in timbuktu wants to watch it on Satellite. It's just 5hite.

Chelsea & City lead the way in loanees with over 45 from each club out on loan at any one time , the vast majority having zero PL appearances to their name ……. All became or are teenage millionaires!

During the absolute damp squib that was this year’s January transfer window Skysports tried to fill some airtime by revealing who were the top ten richest agents in the world & were actually happy to reveal that 8 of them were English!

Newcastle who have ambitions to break in to top 6 with their state owned wealth have admitted to having to sell at least £100M worth of players this summer not to fall foul of P&S

This is entirely down to Sky & the EPL & It is simply not acceptable!

Whilst I'm at in ranty mode.

Feck Sky pretending they are bothered about the EFL every International weekend, Feck Micah Richards being at every Man City game with a smug look on his face (the club are fecking cheats with a gazillion charges pending) Feck England playing meaning less friendlies and stopping actual football matches being played, feck the Pizza Cup, bring back replays - stop Northern teams having to travel to Wembley for semi-finals, Feck corporate seats that just remain empty, feck that annoying thing all footballers do now where they hover the ball just past the arc on the corner flag - just feck reyt off with ****.

What you're saying isn't reality

We've not had a huge uplift in football entertainment since the big money arrived

It's the opposite

Agree....entertainment doesn't depend on standard.

Even watching non league football can be very entertaining.

However it's now much more of a spectacle and very different to Championship football.

There's never been as much media coverage home and abroad.

Never been as many tourists travelling to the UK to watch matches.

It's been marketing incredibly well because there's never been as much demand.

I read a report the other week that said Newcastle have season ticket waiting list of 30,000.

Liverpool and Man Utd season ticket waiting list is 25,000

Arsenal is just under 20,000 but they have the audacity to charge anyone who wants to be on the list.

Yesterday on the radio it said Nottingham Forest currently have a season ticket waiting list of 11,000, so this week their clubs has raised their initially cheap ish prices by a whopping 25%.

They were expecting 5% to 10%, so they're shocked to see such a large percentage increase.

So there's an attraction somewhere when so many people seem desperate to watch PL football.

It was never like that in the 80's and 90's. Simon Jordan has said several time that the PL is an incredible success story, so when people say "football is broken" they are living in the past.

In the past English football was the main sport for working class men, now it's the main sport for working class women, children, middle class and even upper class people. Quite incredible really how popular it is, where 1000's of rich people are happy to pay big money to watch PL games.

But aren't we part of the Big 6....  we are massive after all.....

In some respects we are. Some clubs must look forward to clubs like Wednesday playing at their grounds because it pretty much means a full away end and good gate receipts.

It’s a list of wishful thinking, not going to happen because the cash grips tight..

Millions around the world paying to watch and thousands upon thousands on season ticket lists in this country, doesn’t send the message of a broken sport.

It happened at Chesterfield.

They racked up so much debt borrowing from certain individuals and other entities that they have now had to give the club to those individuals

Not if player wages were made realistic

Yep, even the USA has a blanket limit on their "american football" salaries. It is capped based on revenues across the game, and they love to make money but they understand sustainability.

Supporters don’t run it.

They elect a president every 4 or 5 years to run it.
