Popular Post @owlstalk
Danny Röhl on the situation he's in at SWFC: 'As an example we have two grass pitches, but then we have to react to night frost and a failing undersoil heating" "Sheffield Wednesday has a very slim structure: It's the chairman, who is also the owner of the club, and then there's me. All decisions are made between the two of us. I'm involved in all transfers, all contract extensions, booking hotels. I have to sign off on it all. This short chain of command is, on the one hand, good to get things done quickly; but it's a lot of work" That's just a small tiny fraction of the conditions Röhl is forced to work under at our club Honestly if you STILL back the current custodian of this football club then I can no explain your approach to it other than you've been misled by other fans, you've not seen the truth, or you are just unwilling to even after being presented with the facts. It doesn't have to be this way Chansiri OUT (and the sooner the better) 47 24 5 1 Owlstalk Shop
Popular Post vulva
I really like Röhl but that all smells of excuses. Awful team selection, awful performance. Take your medicine, learn from it and move on. Re the infrastructure; presume he did his due diligence before taking the job. 11 1 2

This wasn't even for yesterdays game Nice try though I've popped you into the 'you are just unwilling to even after being presented with the facts' category - of which you have been a member (some would say the leader) for some time now. 16 1 Owlstalk Shop

Fair enough but he was making similar noises yesterday. As a manager you sometimes have to put your hand up and admit failings. Yesterday’s starting line up away at a top side was ludicrous. 9 1

Again - sorry to stop you trying to railroad the thread to defend your beloved leader - but this thread isn't about yesterdays game Again - nice try but not going to allow you to (once again) try to derail the thread 14 1 Owlstalk Shop

Even if he did his due diligence, how do you actually feel about the way the club operates in the 2 areas mentioned? 10
matthefish2002
Doesn't Röhl have a secretary to book hotels, do the general administration work etc? Sounds like Rohls role is similar to how managers used to be 30 years ago.
darra
Don't think anybody can defend Chansiri but wouldn't Röhl have know the situation when he signed or has he been given unfulfilled promises?
A E Neuman NYowl
Danny releasing these titbits of criticism make me think something has gone off behind the scenes. Yesterday several players ( Johnson, Bernard, Gazzama Ugbo and I have never seen Bannan perform like that ) they just looked like they didn't want to be there. Danny normally controls his emotions even after defeats but yesterday he looked demoralised. 2
Popular Post @owlstalk
Röhl is just the latest in a long line of managers under this owner who have come in, settled in a bit and then seen the truth of what it's really like Every manager before Röhl has spoken of 'surprises' after arriving at our club Some have tried to work with it Others (Pulis, Bruce etc) have seen it and legged it as fast as possible But there's always always surprises I'm willing to put money on nobody telling Röhl or his 'due diligence team' of faulty undersoil heating for instance 17 Owlstalk Shop

4evaowl
DR mentioned this some weeks ago and yesterday these type of infrastructure issues came up because we were playing Ipswich, a team that we were neck and neck with for most of last season on the pitch. DR was calm and very professional in pointing out the clear differences between the two clubs. It’s as clear as day why they are geared up to compete and we aren’t. DR wasn’t making excuses for yesterday’s performance. He was open in that he wanted to try to get something out of the game rather than ‘destroy’ it as he said, and possibly still get beaten. You could tell in his interview that he knew he’d got it wrong on the day. 6

Years ago in the 1960s we had Eric Taylor as a club secretary and the club was financially stable and reasonably well organised for a football club, but we weren’t hugely competitive on the pitch as we always sold our best players.

Basement Jack
Unbelievable really Having to book the hotels as well! It’s a wonder he has time to coach the team if he doesn’t even get help with that. Have you tried to book a hotel for your holiday and the stress that causes Try booking one for the whole team along with the staff and kit stuff Its a wonder the bloke hasn’t had a nervous breakdown
Popular Post bigdan2003
140 million spent, and he has to get his most senior coach to book hotel rooms. i could understand it if it was a non league club, but this is meant to be a championship club. We are so fcked. 10
Popular Post Howmanyowls
14 months ago we were above Ipswich in the league and looking to win the title. No players brought in and Ipswich strengthened. Then we had a shît show of a summer and they built on their squad. Look where we are now. The biggest difference being our chairman and theirs. He is the one person that has had the greatest influence on all this. 14

Everything about our club absolutely reeks of league one/league two.
