Musaba/Gassama

They can’t be on the pitch at the same time, it’s one or the other.

They are still young, but there is a lot of naivety with them, lose the ball far too easily, defensively not great, when they are bad they are really bad.

Which is most of the time, not team players just selfish.

Explains the position we're in and the shocking decision making the club has made. We're desperately reliant on young kids to do what they're miles off ready to do every week

Exactly.

Gassama and Musaba are both talented players, but they're very raw, inconsistent, and still getting fully up to speed with English football. They're the kind of players you want to drop in and out of the staring XI as form permits whilst they develop further; not to be first team regulars who you have to rely on week in, week out.

But needs must.

We didn't recruit anyone better in the summer, and we didn't add further reinforcements in January either.

Agreed, many people have said the same thing, one or the other.

I don't know if it was tactical but both players today played as if they had no defensive responsibilities.

Normally Gazzama is not great defensively but at least shows some effort. Musaba does at least track back normally.

Today Iorfa and Johnson were no offered no protection and were totally outnumbered time and time again.

Not helped by a real weak midfield, they are both talents but nowhere near finished article , their end products are both very inconsistent.

Agreed, if they had Morsy and Luongo behind them they'd look like world beaters

Neither offered the full backs any cover. Away from home its too much of a luxury. They also gave no service to Ike.

Agreed, the work rate of both of them is just not good enough. Just can’t neglect defensive responsibilities, especially away from home

Very much disagree. I don’t see any situation ever where Musaba looks like a world beater. Truly awful player!!!

It’s the 4-2-3-1 formation, not them per se. It doesn’t work for us.

DR has to find a way of stopping us getting overrun and two in midfield hasn’t worked all season.

I personally favour 3-5-2 but his version of a 5-2-2-1 has worked much better than 4-2-3-1

That is the key point.  Midfield of Bannan and Vaulks keeping shop while the young uns attack.  Always going to end in tears.

Need prime Sammy Hutch or that young Aussie Fella from Ipswich in there.

Yep it’s not ideal having to pick the ball up in your own half , running 40 yards just to get towards the other box ,

for example Hutchinson at Ipswich was getting the ball in better situations I’d argue due to his midfield being on the front foot
