Sam Hutchinson

Fantastic player, an absolute rock and natural leader on the pitch. Roy Keane wishes he was as hard as Sam.

I also respect his dedication to the goal celebration by jumping on the grass, landing on his back and braining himself.

Was convinced he was going to injure himself celebrating. Think he enjoyed it somewhat

Need to keep him in the defence and not shuffle him into midfield again which broke him earlier this season

Yep.

Just been saying in another thread that we need a backup for Luongo in the squad. Having to try Hutchinson there earlier in the season caused us to lose him, too.

Reads the game as well as anyone will at this level from the back and great composure on the ball.

His weakness as a CB is his aerial ability so hopefully we sign a CB to play next to him who will be tasked with wining those battles

Totally agree. Sam is class. And reads the game so so well.

Surely Sam, with Dunkley to his left, and Iorfa to his right, is a quality unit for this level?

Remember at the start of the season when we all thought we'd never concede a goal?

Getting these 3 back playing, with Luongo in front, then Im confident at we wont lose (m)any matches.

Hes better in defence these days yes but the notion that filling in the odd game in midfield if required will 'break' him is a bit of a myth IMO. He covered loads of ground yesterday. Real key likely is to manage his training and number of games in a short period.

That trio would be terrific in the championship if all were fully fit together.

No way should he get a new deal

We need players who are capable to play 40+ games a season

He's one stupid tackle away from being out again for another 3 months

Our finances are better spent elsewhere

That's a hefty ban, are you expecting him to go down for GBH or something?
