Wednesdayite
Heartbreaking. One of the nicest, honourable and respected players to grace Hillsborough. I have no words but will be keeping Jose and his family in my heart and prayers. Edited September 30, 2021 by Wednesdayite Missed a word
markg
Not ashamed to admit that this drove me to tears. Feels stupid as I don’t know either of them. He just seemed such an amazing bloke. 4

hasthagotanycheese
So so sad, RIP Mrs Semedo, thoughts with all the family at this difficult time. Jose was one of a handful of players in the last 20 years that "got it" about what it meant to play for Wednesday and was the embodiment of what this club should be about. Dogged, solid, resolute, steadfast, dependable. Im heartbroken for him tonight.

His wife I imagine would have been in thirties? Absolutely no age to die. Left behind two young sons as well. Awful Awful news.

Poor man. Do they have children? She can't have been any age. Jose and his wife had two ten year old boys.

Nut
Terrible news. Why do such awful things happen to decent human beings? Really hope the club rally round. Would be great if we fans could somehow let him know he is in our thoughts also.
Hootsman
What terrible news. An awful thing to happen to a very decent guy with a young family. Like many others, I'd like some way to let him know that our thoughts are with him.

Sheffieldrams
My wife used to teach their 2 boys when they lived in Sheffield and spoke to Mrs Semedo many times. A very nice lady. The boys must only be in their early teens now? On one occasion Jose came to pick up the boys from school with his friend Ronaldo. My wife spoke to him but had no idea who he was having no interest in football. It was only after that someone pointed out who he was and even then she was none the wiser!!! 1 2

SiJ
Haven't been many players I can think of who have embraced and got Sheffield Wednesday more than Jose. Had and still has a very special connection with this club. It is just awful news and I hope theyll be some sort of tribute (a minutes applause etc) at the same on Sat.
