BPF - 5 - Flappy but solid.  Claims what he should.  Didn’t check behind him and gifted them a point.

Palmer - 4 - Terrible passing and crossing.  Ok defending.  Tried to get forward.
Iorfa - 6 - Ok and not really threatened.
Hutch - 7 - Bad start and poor dealing with long balls but came into his own later

Johnson - 7 - Early mistakes but grew into the game and always moves the ball forward.

Adeniran - 7 - Good goal.  Strong.  Average passing.
Bannan - 5 - Poor passing and crossing.
Wing - 8 MOM - High effort.  Good tackling and set piece defending.  Top passing to spread play.  Always wanted it.

Berahino - 5 - Invisible.
Gregory - 7 - Put himself about.  Good hold up play. Lacks pace and a finish atm.
Shodipo - 6 - Some good moments.  Wins free kicks but not on the ball enough.

BPF - 1. Maybe I'm being reactionary, he would have been a 6 otherwise. But you can't roll the result away and have it ignored. Single most embarrassing mistake by a Wednesday player I've seen in my 7ish years gawking at this car crash of a club

Palmer - 4. Looks better than Hunt whenever he plays left back. Looks inept and wasteful at right back. An enigma.

Iorfa - 6. Did fine. No longer looking like a Championship CB though.

Hutch - 6. Does the last ditch defending really well, but some of his decision making is really odd at times.

Johnson - 6. Still prefer Brown to him, but it's nice having a left footer at left back.

Wing - 7. His best game for us.

Adeniran - 7. Good goal. We'll do well to keep him past this season. Tends to have patches in games, but took his goal well and had some good energy.

Bannan - 4. Dunno if he was carrying that knock for a while, but he looked really off it.

Shodipo - 6.5. Proper winger. Looks better on the left. I like him

Gregory - 6. Made a nuisance of himself and worked hard, but never really looked likely to score.

Berahino - 4. Anonymous. Wasted out wide. Does not suit a 4-3-3 with Gregory at all. I think we've got a decently carved square peg for a round hole. It's a familiar pattern to the last few years.

I was going to give low ratings even if we had seen out the 1-0, didn't think we played very well and Ipswich probably should have scored one of their more conventional chances.

Peacock-Farrell: 6 - admit it, you'd have all been giving him 7s and 8s if that hadn't have happened. So he gets -1 for the error (like Bannan did for missing the pen last week), but the defence who all went to sleep get -0.5 too.

Palmer: 5.5 - wasted a few attacking moments, should have got at Penney more

Iorfa: 6.5 - too little too late with the shout for the goal. Otherwise played okay.

Hutchinson: 5.5 - thought he looked a bit shaky and often out of position. Needs to learn to play to the whistle.

Johnson: 6.5 - pretty decent for the most part. Looks much more a LB than a LW.

Wing: 7 - starting to establish himself.

Adeniran: 7.5 - did he mis-kick the goal? Anyway, our one attacking moment and we badly need his energy.

Bannan: 6 - poor, wasted a good chance and seems to struggle in this more advanced role

Berahino: 6.5 - Some good moments, but flits in and out of the game

Shodipo: 6.5 - Looks a threat, need to keep him in the game more

Gregory: 7.5 - MoM. Great at getting his body in the way of the defender and controlling the ball back to goal. Noce lay-ff for our goal.

Dele-Bashiru: 6.5 - One good surge, one sloppy moment

Paterson: 6.5 - Did okay, can't remember

Dunkley: N/A (but would have got the collective -0.5 as well)

BPF 2 wow

Palmer 5 usual poor passing/crossing ok defending

Iorfa 7

Hutch 7

Johnson 5 will struggle against pace, decent cross for goal but brown might offer more

Wing 5 slow and lightweight, prefer to see db given a chance

Adeniran 7*

Bannan 3 worse seen him play, crossing/passing way off and like gregory no pace to offer a threat in behind, back to middle 3

Shodipo 4 quiet

Gregory 5 assist but doesnt look like scoring many, badly lacks pace and presence, prefer to see pato or sb as striker

Berahino 4 quiet, play central only

2 poor lg1 sides, need more energy in midfield, creativity on flanks, pace up front.

Crossing/set pieces non league, if you offer little/zero threat even if by some pace on break you get punished by an error or set piece, seen it all before.

Still not found his best 11 imo

BPF 1 - would’ve been a 7 until he cost us the win, didn’t have much to do but did it with minimal fuss… an error like that is unforgivable though

Palmer 5.5 - poor going forward but alright defensively

Iorfa 7 - makes it look easy

Hutchinson 7.5 - a warrior at the back today, fantastic game

Johnson 7 - tidy game in both halves, gives us more balance

Adeniran 7.5 - extra half a point for a brilliant goal, was otherwise solid if not eye-catching

Bannan 5.5 - well off it today, carrying a knock or just a bad game?

Wing 8 - really impressive game from him, easily his best yet so far for us

Shodipo 6 - didn’t offer a great deal

Gregory 7 - worked very hard with little support at times, nice assist for the goal

Berahino 5.5 - very quiet, barely involved at all… would like to see him play centrally and get on the ball more

Subs:

Paterson 6 - worked hard but didn’t do anything notable in 25 minutes or so

FDB 6.5 - showed glimpses of being a potential midfield powerhouse, touch was a bit heavy on one or two occasions but there’s something to work with there

Hutchinson 8, MOTM by a country mile thought he was excellent again today.

Adeniran 7 & Wing 6, both showed bright spells going forward and I thought Wing controlled the game well at times.

BPF 3, that’s now THREE games in a row he’s made an error leading to a goal. Imagine the grief we’d be giving Wildsmith or Dawson if it were them? Surely Wildsmith comes back in now.

Everyone else 5’s, largely very poor performance again. Apart from the wonder goal we created nothing and don’t really seem to have any distinct style we’re trying to play.

Its a real worry we’re now 8 games in and still look quite lost. Tactically I don’t know what we’re trying to do.

Nailed it for me...Wing by a mile today...Hutch got his positions all wrong for the first 30 mins

BPF 1 thought he was shakey (not coming for crosses he should have) before that shambles at the end.

Palmer 5 tried to get forward but wasteful

Iorfa 5.5 steady

Hutch 6 steady

Johnson 6 grew into it

Wing 7MOM

Dennis 6.5 brings much needed energy

Bannan 4.5 possibly his worst performance for the club

Shodipo 6 looked decent

Berhino 5.5 quiet. Still not quite up to speed

Gregory 6 puts himself about and holds the ball up well but never look like scoring

Paterson 5.5 gives all. Out of position.

Adeniran  4 along with everyone else who all contributed to a P Poor performance.

D Moore a defensive player who has problems moulding a defence. A defence that we fans regarded as the strongest in this league. Yet we persist in Fannying about to the extent not being aware that BPF did n't get a shout and neither did he give 2 F's of who might be sniffing around as he gave away the equalising goal.

Midfield retention of the ball is woeful and injection of confidence for players to go past their markers is none existent. When we are in place to cross, the crosses are out of harms way behind the goal or run out for throw ins.

Gregory ploughed a loan furrow with a little part time help from Bannan, but when Bannan broke free in the centre where was Gregory to help.

In Summary Moore has to take the pressure off the defence and free up the midfield, twinning Berahino with Gregory in a twin strike force and give our opposition something to think about.
