careful.

We use a complex assessment method which is thought to consider availability, potential, age, suitability etc, with these ratings input into a paired comparison matrix model which is then prioritised according to any identified weakness in the squad asset database (SAD).All this is done by highly paid analysts and data-specialists of course, working with networked computers and vast video libraries. We have invested heavily in a the system called Player Indentification Nexus (or PIN for short). There is great confidence in the robustness of the method and a final selection is made.

Ah, so you use the same method as us then!

I dont get it, why would we have loan players on trial. Surely a trial is for players to sign.

If we are bring them in on loan, them we loan them.

The worry for me so far is we have looked at no one over 22 yrs old. We have look at no one playing consistently in league football for the last few years and there seems to be this idea, that the players that have failed us for the last few seasons are going to be the core of the team.

We dont seem to have had any goal keepers or strikers on trial, the key areas we desperately need. This guys yet another midfielder.

DM and the recruitment team need to pull their fingers out and get the players we need in.

Jesus. It isn't Football Manager, we have just been relegated and until very recently players weren't being paid, we are a shambles so I highly doubt players are queuing up to sign for us. DM has stated the squad is nowhere near complete, don't you think if he could he would already have signed everyone he wants/needs?

We are probably in the bottom two or three least attractive propositions in the top 3 tiers of English football, anyone with a proven track record will have interest from elsewhere and will ultimately go elsewhere. We unfortunately need to rebuild with whatever we can get, DM seems to be targeting players who have played for England through the youth ages so they obviously have something about them and could have a bit of a point to prove. I don't envy DM one bit but I will back him all the way.

Cherry picking... None of the players signed apart from maybe one, or the ones we are looking at are on a upward trajectory and let go by average clubs. If we were getting  players from Premier teams who wanted game time then i might get excited but this window has been a complete failure.

We are stockpiling players who I have grave doubts will make many appearances in the coming season.   Yet again we are missing the obvious and not looking at getting forwards.

I really wouldn't have bothered signing any of the players we have so far.  Should have saved the wages money and blown it on one forward.

I still can't think of one positive thing Moore has brought to the club.

Sorry for being so negative.

No need to apologise; be as negative as you like. You've clearly seen a lot more of these players than me to have such strong opinions on them, other than Uwakwe I assume, based on your earlier post. He is a player from a Premier League club wanting some game time though, so maybe that will cheer you up?

The only one I've seen much of is Adeniren, and he's a player with a fair bit of potential. As for the others, I'll wait and see how they do for us. Shodipo did score 10 goals in this division last season though, so that's promising.

Moore has reportedly said he wants two forwards in this window, so I'm sure they're working on targets behind the scenes. That's clearly a major issue with our squad (as it was this time last year), but we can't simply add one forward to our current squad and head into the season - we need a squad of players, having seen so many leave.

We'd all like to sign the best quality possible, but we're a basket case of a club who are apparently unable to sign anyone other than freebies and loans...needs must.

No idea but shopping in Poundland will only get us cheap players and that's not the way forward.

Unfortunately we can only shop at Poundland. We are not even able to shop at Aldi or Lidl(other supermarkets are available 😆).

However I know people who do shop at Poundland and then sell to make a profit.

We can't afford Poundland.  That's the point.

We arent allowed to spend transfer or loan fees and the EFL controls what wages we are allowed to offer players (presumably the 'going rate' for League 1).  Meanwhile the club's reputation is at an all-time low so we can't even persuade players to sign with 'prestige'.

We are reduced to rummaging in skips looking for something other clubs have thrown out that might 'do a job'.

It's exciting in its own way.  You never know what you might find in a skip...

Do we know for definite that we are under EFL restrictions/ umbongo? And how do we know what they are, pretty sure I saw that derby can only offer 1 year contracts, so it appears that there are a range of restrictions in play....it would be interesting to see how many clubs are being closely managed and how

Oh for transparency

I struggled with Nuhiu for years. Lol

I must admit, I'm looking forward to hearing Brian Laws' co-commentary this season.

He'd only just got his mouth around 'Odubajo', if you'll pardon the expression.

We're not under an embargo and paid the players, so don't see what sanctions EFL could justify applying.

That said, we are probably at, or near to, our limit of spending 75% of revenue in accordance with L1 FFP, so EFL will be monitoring this.

Easily solved by the owner donating money to the club, except he's obviously skint. No longer Bobby big bolocks throwing money around, just when we actually need it.

Both on the same page here, like you I think that , rightly, the EFL are monitoring our spending to ensure we keep within the rules and don't repeat not paying the players

I don't buy the whole.... can't pay a fee or can't pay agents instructions from the EFL....I suspect that the club/owner doesn't want to pay them. So is something that can easily be rectified to sort recruitment issues if he chooses to

Agree. Problem is that there is still a big imbalance in the squad, a few players taking a lot of the budget for contributing very little.

Needs to be balanced and I'm not sure that can be done by adding bargain basement signings, need a certain amount of quality, even in L1.

It's not that I don't think our signings have been good, in fact the opposite, very happy with our signings. Problem is that with the season upon us, nowhere near enough of them and the most important positions (GK & ST) can't be filled on the cheap.

If Chansiri wants the £7m lost revenue back promotion would bring, needs to gamble some of that up front to give the manager a first team (never mind squad) he has a fighting chance with.
