Players thought Pulis was going?

Recommended Posts

I’m no expert in employment law but surely on the first day you don’t get paid you’re employer would be in breach of contract, and you can just walk?

My bet is that Pulis will be gone by the end of January. Pulis and DC was never going to work, let’s be honest.

It also requires a bit of emotional intelligence. Rather than seeing the word ‘journalist’ and thinking it can’t possibly be true.

Whereas as I 100% believe everything I read in The Sun and don't for one minute think that any journalist who writes for the reputable publication in any way puts a spin on anything.

He's gambling because he's in the dark.

Chansiri might might have the money to pay his compensation.

I don't doubt there's a thread of truth to this, but like much of what Nixon writes it's hard to understand clearly what he's actually saying.

Of course, the vagueness is entirely intentional, but it's hardly surprising that so many feel his hit-rate is quite low.

He clearly does come by information though, and irrespective of what is said, if players and staff are only being partially paid I doubt there are many of them that wouldn't be thinking hard about what their options are right now; and since Pulis has hardly been here long the option to reverse himself out of the situation must be quite tempting.

Still, the real message here can only be understood from considering why Pulis let this little nugget slip to the press in the first place, because it obviously came from him (or via his agent or whomever). No doubt it's DC who he's trying to communicate to, and it's probably about trying to force his hand with transfer monies (as well as player wages etc.).

Spot on.

This is a pretty big story a Championship level. A high profile manager like Pulis deciding to walk out on a job he took on a month ago from a club recently making the news for not making correct payments to players and other financial issues.

As you say, there is likely to be truth behind the headline but the detail of how, when and why is crucially missing.

Options are:

1) Carry on, be professional and wait it out

2) Contact the EFL, leak to the press and complain in anger and demand something gets done

3) Down tools and refuse to play (saying you're 'injured')

4) Carry on playing but not play as good either because you're down about the situation, or on purpose

5) Throw games, get sent off, do anything you can to earn your missing wages back in bets at the bookies

Loads of options

lol

What would you do?

It took 30 seconds of "digging" mate... search function, look for term "Nixon" made by username FreshOwl... think it was the fifth or sixth result displayed.

Honestly it looks like it takes effort but it took less time than it takes me to find a decent vid on pornhub lol

You should be spending your time more wisely and brushing up on your cooking skills!

I just have a nagging feeling that Pulis already knows he won't be getting any money for players in January, and wants out.

Unless we were selling Iorfa for £10m and he was promised every penny to reinvest.

Wouldn't take a rocket scientist to suspect that's the case would it?

Don't know how he can know for sure though as the owner is not answering the phone and his email inbox is full!

Didn’t Pulis say that the fact that they hadn’t yet spoken, was down to Pulis himself

Yes, my post was somewhat tongue in cheek though considering how desperate Pulis seemingly was to speak to him I'm not totally convinced.

Manager promised money for players.

Openly admits to press he wants new players as they arnt good enough (we already knew this).

So he de motivates current players.

Shock of shocks, there is no money as our only decent saleable asset is injured.

There is no money.

Pulis stuck with squad he's openly said is rubbish.

Wants out, but wants his money. After making himself look like a bit of an idiot.

I just don't understand what DC's strategy is here with regards to January.

Money's obviously tight; so much so that the players aren't getting paid in full on time.

So why even go to the expense of changing manager? I mean, I was delighted he sacked Monk, and in itself it was certainly the right decision, but given the costs involved what was the actual strategy in doing so if you're not even going to be able to back the new manager in the transfer market?

Once again, DC's behaviour is hard to credit with any reason.
