It would be nice to show some ambition and get away from the usual names.

Bruno Lage (surely someone at the club still has his number)

Leonardo Jardim

Eddie Howe

Being more realistic with the current mess we're in

Danny Cowley or Paul Cook

Is this not where we have gone wrong over the last 25 years - simply picking the manager from a list put together by betting companies, pundits and the media.

Why don’t we do our research properly. How high was Bielsa on everyone’s radar for the Leeds job? We need to put the hard yards in to recruit the best possible candidate for us not by sticking a pin in the ‘available list’.

Why aren't you all shouting for The Cowley brothers NOW?

I know I’m repetitive but your posts in this thread remind me of a Garry Monk Press Conference 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

For the folk who can't grasp simple concepts let me explain

Every footballer has an ego

Not every footballer is a bad egg
An EGO is not a BAD EGG

It's literally THAT simple

Everyone has an Ego.

Not just footballers.

It's the very thing that fuels arguments on Owlstalk. Ego.

Pearson would be daft to take the job, he would be in the mix for better jobs, either lower prem or top end Championship.

His link to SWFC might ignite something in him to want to come and save us, doubt it.

If we are living in fantasy land he would be my choice.

But we do need someone who know this division, similar to Steve Bruce.

Said he was desperate by time Watford came for him.

He''d take it tomorrow now.

Problem is, Chansiri's ego.

Pearson tried to help us before when with Foxes and our owner told him Vardy was not worth £ 5 million.

And he'dwant to play Westy.

This would be so tragic..but so predictable..bully rings westy up..we win first game then lose 10 on trot..dc scrambles about for a new manager..and here we go again..🥴

Over and over we saw posts shouting for The Cowley Brothers to come

It takes some doing to get through the acres of sewage on these threads so I will save people the job

The thread can broadly be summarised as:

'We want to avoid relegation.  We should sack our never relegated manager and one of the very few managers to survive in this league with a points deduction, and replace him with the former manager of relegated Watford or the former manager of relegated Wigan. '

It would seem more like they changed their mind with evidence, after the Cowleys did poorly at Huddersfield, or should people blindly stick to the first position they take on something no matter the changing circumstances?

Also we're in a different position as a club as we were when Monk was appointed, possibly people think this situation requires a different type of manager than last seasons appointment, I certainly think it's reasonable to think that different situations would be suited to different managers.

Not really, Carlos was a strange appt but once we saw how the team set up and how we played he gained the trust of the support, it didn't end very well.

Luhukay was a terrible appt, no one bought into that one.

Bruce was an exciting appt and exactly what we needed, unfortunately Rafa walked at Newcastle.

Monk and his record was a gamble, for a manager so young to have moved around so much should be a warning, his record here is gash.

Bullen's proven beyond doubt that he can't manager at this level.

So out of 5 managerial appts we have had one that wasn't really a gamble.
