Popular Post Lord Snooty
"Evening Stubbs. How come we're here at the Helmet?" "The Nuns has been closed by Sargent Cudgel." "How so?" "You have to have food with your drink and alas, Sir, there was no food being served at the Nuns" "Ah yes. That's right you can't just have a drink without a 'substantial meal'. So what delights do they have here, I can't see a menu?" "Pork scratchings, Sir" "I thought it had to be 'substantial?" "It will be, Sir, you have to by them by the pound or just one packet put between two slices of thick bread." "I don't want a Pork scratching sandwich!" "You don't have to eat it, Sir. No one can force you to. You just have to order it to be able to get a drink" "The Worlds gone raving mad, Stubbs. Mad!" "Indeed" "So. What news do you have for the OMDT Stubbs?" "Not much ,Sir I have scanned several previews in the online community and all of them have a different predicted starting eleven for Wednesday. No one seems to know who'll play or where. Most can't even agree what the system is" "Iorfa is he back?" "Training...but...no one knows..." "Lees?" "Training...but...no one knows..." "Brown..no, don't tell me. Training...but....'no one knows'...and what do we know about this lot, Rotherham? Other than they're a tin pot Mickey mouse club that we should be putting to the sword by 6 or 7 goals easily, based on nothing more than the two clubs respective histories and the fact we have more fans and they used to have a rubbish ground?" "Really Sir, I..." "Only kidding, I'm not one of those daft coves. I know the score. It's all about the here and now. And with no fans in the ground none of that matters anyway. So what news do you have?" "Well , tactics wise ,sir . Rotherham under Warne this season tend to start with the lone striker and then throw on a second striker on towards the end of the game as things open up and defences are tiring so... It might well be that second striker is ..." "Jacob Gratton?" "No, Sir I.." "Chiedozie Ogbene!" "Sir, I mean.." "Kyle Vassell" "Sir, I think there's an elephant in the room here" -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- ROTHERHAM UNITED - V - WEDNESDAY Wednesday 28th October 2020 Kick Off: 19:45pm New York Stadium Ref: Jarred Gillett Ref stats: Apps: 6 Yellows: 21 Reds:1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- THE TEAM NEWS ROTHERHAM Regular left-back Joe Mattock made a welcome return to the side on Saturday following his period of self-isolation, and both he and Shaun MacDonald are expected to start again after missing the trip to Nottingham Forest. Dutch winger Florian Jozefzoon is likely to keep his starting spot after impressing, while Michael Smith will spearhead the Millers attack. Jamal Blackman hurt his ankle last week against Nottingham Forest but took his place in the side that lost 3-0 at Championship leaders Reading on Saturday, and is expected to be fit for the derby. Predicted line-up: Blackman Harding Ihiekwe Wood Mattock Wiles MacDonald Barlaser Jozefzoon Crooks Ladapo -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- WEDNESDAY The Owls are facing an injury crisis at the back, and Joost van Aken's red card means that Aden Flint and Julian Borner are the only fit senior centre-backs at the club. Wednesday do have Dominic Iorfa and Tom Lees on the mend but this game maybe too soon for either, Monk faces another dilemma in whether to risk Izzy Brown in Wednesdays misfiring midfield to try and add a spark of creativity. If not then there's a possibility that Josh Windass might be pushed back deeper into midfield. Predicted line-up: Dawson Odubajo Flint Borner Harris Pelupessy Reach Windass Bannan Marriott Paterson -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- AS IT STANDS COME ON WEDNESDAY! 18 1 10

Mystic Neg
I predict that tomorrow evening circa 10pm will be full of optimism in the bi-polar world of being an owls fan. nevthelodgemoorowl
I don't think I'll ever see a better Rotherham game where they sneaked the winner in injury time. Oh how they went wild. Not too happy when we rescued a point though. Suicidal when Lee nipped in the vinegar stroke to win the whole Turkey shoot. Now that was an ending to beat all endings. The walking wounded maybe still wounded but we'll give it all we've got. UTO & DTB WAWAW 3-2 OWLS ! 3 1
Ibbo48
Apart from the match that nev has just recounted, they’re generally tight, dire matches. Midweek match, home or away , these days suggests exactly that. So a tight, dire 1-0 defeat it is. The misery in Brian Laws voice says it all.

Rossendale Owl
Bad feeling. Really trying to be glass half full but keep arriving at dire 1-0 to them, best case scenario excruciating 0-0.

Neon Nick
"Elephant in the room", well, if he proves to be anti-social, break out the Holland & Holland .577 Nitro Express.... Seriously, I'd guess SWFC will win this one. 2-0 Wednesday, Reach and Patterson.

Understand your point, but SWFC is due for a win and also to score more than 1 goal. I'll go out on a limb and say Patterson heads one in during the first half, and Reach hits a 30-yard screamer in the second...if either start. I know, it's a longshot, and optimism is difficult right now....but in a strange way, it's why WAWAW, after all these decades, centuries actually. Even when we're not optimistic, we are, or we'd stop caring. 1

Drewswfc
After Saturdays debacle absolutely dreading this one. Dull dull dull boring hoof ball that's getting mighty tedious to watch. 0-0 written all orrit.
areNOTwhatTHEYseem
I'd usually be quite optimistic going into this one, but our performance against Luton was worrying, to say the least. Hopefully a few of the injured players return and we can get back to the more positive performances we had at the start of the season. We could really do with a win tonight to get ourselves back on track.
jonnyowl
Must win for me tonight. We are 9 points adrift. Hopefully a few players back and a.much improved performance. Hopefully Monk gets some divine inspiration from somewhere and drops Dawson Odubajo and Pelupessy.s 1

Neon Nick
Yes, SWFC is much better attacking, than hoofing-n-hoping. RUN it out, and if not, get some guys in a position to at least be there for the "hoof." Same for those exquisite crosses from Reach, where's all the recipients for such crosses? Well, your loft is now insulated, and you're still thinking SWFC. WAWAW.
