12 point deduction this season and we haven’t a snowball on a gas rings chance of staying up - even 6 points and I wouldn’t fancy our chances.

10 points would see us outside the bottom 3 on goal difference with 4 games left, assuming Wigan are not going to overturn the 12 point deduction. It’s then a 3 from 4 going down scenario.

We would probably need 6 points, 8 to be sure. Because funny things happen at this time of season and you can’t rule out Barnsley or Luton winning a couple. Plus Wigan are in good form.

We only really have one Championship standard team left, and that’s the one that started against Bristol City plus maybe Reach. Any variation from that and we’re carrying passengers and won’t be able to win games.

I (and most sane people) blame monk if we are relegated

have you seen our results under his management?

fizz all to do with Chansiri..;he doesn't train and pick the team..monk does

Ultimately, you are correct about his (Monk's) overall record with us, however.... being honest we only ever had a mid table squad, perhaps 6th place at an absolute push. And in his defence he got us (briefly) to the dizzy heights of 3rd, but that felt like we were over achieving at the time. But nonetheless he got us there.

We then witnessed a dramatic drop in form, which may or may not have coincided with the club getting embroiled in a legal battle with the EFL. But we all felt like something changed around Christmas and this year has been one long drag, worrying about what might be coming down the line.  Better managers than Monk might also struggle to motivate players throughout that.

So to say that it is nothing to do with Chansiri is a bit daft imo. We may well beat the charge, but he is the owner, and ultimately brought this huge distraction down upon us when he couldn't reign in his spending.

Who is going to give DC 150 million quid for a 3rd tier football club?

Nobody.

We are stuck with him until either his money runs out or he takes a massive haircut on his investment.

Hes gonna need to get some calls right very soon. Given his track record Im not holding my breath.

He needs some balls before he gets some calls.

52 points is already enough to stay up, because Wigan will go, and there is now way that Luton and Barnsley will get 53 points.

Everything hinges on this bloody hearing. 6 points or more, and we are truly fooooooooooooked.

Yep, this is it.

Nothing else needs to be said.

Remember 1989/90?

I do. Assuming we don't get a points deduction, and especially if Wigan do, the set of results needed for us to go down this season would be far more unlikely than what happened then. Then, although there were quite a few clubs below us when we had 4 games left (including both Manchester sides!) most of them had games in hand, so it really came down to two things: our collapse and Luton's great escape. This time, almost all the clubs below us also have only 4 games to go, and they don't seem to be in that good form. For comparison, in 2012/13, Peterborough went down with 54 points and Wolves finished 2nd-bottom with 51, but at the equivalent stage of the season they were 4th-bottom and 2nd-bottom respectively.

If we get a 12 point deduction which bearing in mind what other clubs have been given would almost be the best case scenario, we’d be effectively be bottom, 1 point adrift and 6 points from safety with 4 games to go. Sorry but I just can’t see this shower having the bottle to turn that around Monks or no Monks. Let’s just hope and pray it doesn’t come to that.

Not go down unless there’s a points deduction. Not because we are good enough but because the teams near the bottom are pisss poor. Too many points to pick up in a few games.

You summed it up in one word .. ‘we’  . Top to bottom not good enough.

The owner , the manager, the players and to an extent some the fans.

many circumstances dictate the situation but sadly it starts from the top

Totally agree. The problem starts right at the top

Monk takes some of the blame but he isn’t the main reason for the decline.

How many other managers would work without any of their own coaches?

How much money has been made available to Monk for transfers?

Is it Monk’s fault a big part of the first team (Fletcher, Forestieri, Fox and Hutchinson) have all just walked away from the club for nothing?

Monk didn't want Forestieri and Hutchinson and what if Fletcher and Fox didn't want to stay because of Monk.

Put Fletcher, Forestieri, Fox and Hutchinson in our team tonight and we probably win that game.

Can be debated why Hutchinson left but I don’t think you can blame Monk for the other three leaving
