The legal action from DC could well be a bravado stunt that backfires and then hinders next season too. If we are to start on minus points it potentially impacts recruitment as we may miss out on certain players if they have choices of which club to sign for. I'm inclined to agree with you in terms of getting it out of the way this season but hypothetically would it be better to start next season in the Championship with minus 12 points or in League One with a clean slate? Hopefully we wont be faced with either prospect.

Biggs said the indications were that the initial arbitration hearing to determine if the EFL charges are legal would be at the end of this month. The “initial” bit suggests there’ll be more than one hearing. The EFL's Disciplinary Panel can't do anything until the arbitration process is complete.
jerseyowl
Our season is already over, we clearly broke rules, we should agree a settlement punishment with the EFL and take a hit this season. But knowing our luck Chansiri will fight this and we'll end up with a points deduction for next season and totally derail next season's chances of any hope too. Might as well quit Wednesday for a year and save some cash

Might as well quit Wednesday for a year and save some cash Did we? I agree the transaction was morally suspect (necessitated by ridiculous FFP restrictions) but was within the rules at the time, discussed and agreed by EFL who subsequently ratified the accounts. A change in leadership at the EFL, pressure from Gibson and they are now trying to take retrospective action, despite the apparent written evidence we are relying on. If the written evidence is so compelling that our lawyers have challenged (and Derby's too in similar circumstances) I dont think we ought to see a points deduction as a given. sweetsheri
I think now that any deduction, which would be challenged, will take hold at the start of next season. I can see us starting next season on -12 or worse. Didn't Leeds start on -15 a few years back?
SwellOwl
I don’t think we would survive with a points deduction. Can we go back to Boxing Day before we play Stoke and start again?
GibKev
Dont mean to be all doom and gloom But if we went down it might be positive. We have a lot of high earners out of contract and itll give a chance to the younger players and a chance to rebuild. However, not sure if Monk is the right man for this. Mr Farrell
The main thing is to buy your 10 year season ticket so DC can pay the EFL fine. Only then can we start planning for the points deduction and next seasons embargo. Back him or get to Lane. 1

room0035
We have been treading water now for 4 season we are paying silly prices for shocking football. No leadership from one disaster to the next. we have a clueless manager and a hopeless chairman. You just think the club have learnt there lesson and they go and offer a ten year back to the premier league ticket. they would be better off selling tin hats they would get more sales. The Night-Owl
The way we've been playing and caving in since Christmas, suggests can we avoid relegation without a points deduction? A points deduction; with this gutless squad, with this clueless manager and owner, without any fight, direction or leadership on and off the pitch, we'll be as good as down. Ever since Christmas we've looked like a bottom three team that's thrown in the towel.

Derby case is not to do with their stadium it is how they amortise their players contracts. say they buy a player for £4m for 4 years they should release £1m a year into the accouns, but what derby were doing was saying the players an asset and in 4 years that player will be worth £1m, so they only then release £750k a season. in business this is true but when a footballer is out of contract he is free unless he is under 24. they may be after them on the sale of the ground but they have all their paperwork sign and stadium paid for at the right time unlike us. RigBon
As of now, a 12pt deduction would put us in the relegation zone, 2pts off of the very bottom.

The only way is S6
Might sound bizarre, but it would give us something to play for at least. We're currently drifting along, aimlessly. We'd then see how good our support was by backing them, or booing them. Certainly wouldn't be a dull end to the season.

Anymore would rather be next season. Anyhow, still not convinced we will be found guilty.
