I know the Birmingham manager use to be his assistant. Not sure about the others. Like you say give it time I guess but I just find it strange Bullen being assistant. Can’t imagine many other managers would go in to a job without their people around them.

Would cost compensation as well.

Does FFP come into this - I know there is a view that the manager / coaches don't count in that calc but I have never seen that for the Championship

Monk isn’t bringing any other staff and has to work with Bullen as assistant.

No wonder it took so long to get somebody willing to work under these constraints.

Why keep Bullen? What does he add? Clearly a nice bloke but he’s been here under so many failed regimes.

Fresh ideas needed under fresh management IMO.

It is to do with money, DC was trying not to spend too much on manager. Monk will not have been cheap.

We have good fitness coach and recruitment specialists so know need for Monk to use Featherstone who all uproar was about to help with recruitment.

issue is with coaching as its down to Monk, Bullen and Weaver. Monk is young enough to be on field with players but we do probably need somebody else which may mean Bullen has to go.

The costs of coaches do count in calculations.

I wonder if the fact he is being investigated for transfer dealings by his older clubs will effect the respect etc our players have for him. We don’t want any excuse for them not giving 100% for him. Personally I’ve always believed it doesn’t matter how they feel about a manager they should always give everything for the club and fans. That doesn’t happen though.

Totally agree.

Players are under achieving under the current regime - looks like it’s easy street and far too comfortable

New coaches/ideas/views required

Bullen will know when it's time to go.  Monk will know when the right time is to let him go.  It's useful in the short term for continuity's sake, but I can't see Monk being swayed by sentimentality.  He didn't get where he is today without being single-minded and ruthless as is necessary

Yet fans were calling for the Cowleys who have only just climbed to their highest point in the Football triangle to the 1st division?.

I’ve had a long hard think about this and decided to vote no

If they do come then I will get behind them, and I would prefer them to Bullen

But I don’t think our players would accept them, I could see another Jos situation developing, when the Cowley’s start dropping one or two crowd favourites

Time will tell, but many many managers have failed at this club, many with much bigger names

This is a monster of a job to get right, and it will take someone special

Are the Cowley’s’s special enough, I’m not sure, it’s just too big a risk for me

Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

The official team photo was in the Star this week complete with chairman and staff. We must have as many backroom staff as we do players. Physios, analysts, performance directors you name it. If we sack the lot and let a new manager restaff every time they come in it’s going to cost a bomb.

Nah, me neither , I can’t stand the fact a bloke who works his absolute heart out for Sheffield Wednesday football club gets time of day and respect, a bloke who’s proven he can step upto the plate and provide stability time and time again when the clubs in trouble

It’s an absolute disgrace, get him out of the club and bring in someone like David Hirst eh ?  A proper club ‘legend’ with best interests of club at heart I’ve heard

Absolutely bang on mate and some on here have the nerve to talk about “respect” (for himself).

They don’t know the meaning of the word.
