All Unions/Federations have a duty to fight for the best for their members. ( getting like the politics thread this ).

I’m going to tread carefully and simply say I think many issues raised in this thread in general are coincidental.

I’m simply going to reference this article https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/jun/14/south-yorkshire-police-changes-approach-football-criticism and add the random word ‘payback’.

I’m not enticing you to comment on the guardian article.  Moreover I’m referencing it so all readers of the thread can understand the back story to the Prohibition Notice.

Maybe if Mothersole took his few hundred thousand a year tongue out of their ass, he may have known what you refer to, including Innocent Norwich fans brutally attacked & hospitalised, ambushes with bottles & flares when we played them. What they jokingly class as segregation on the away end which means the 'home' fans leaving are able (& willing) to pepper the unfortunates below them with anything they can lay their hands on including coins etc etc & this INSIDE the ground. Guy next to me got one on the forehead splitting it immediately. Absolutely mental.

Prohibition order for said offences??? Crowd restrictions???  More segregation to protect the away fans???

Nah, not a chance, that's only OUR reward for the police themselves messing up.

THEIR reward for continuous offences.

Before greeting the crowd SUFC players, staff and their families will enjoy a reception inside the Town Hall, by way of congratulations from the city of Sheffield.

John Mothersole, Chief Executive at Sheffield City Council said: “Many congratulations to Sheffield United, who have gone from strength to strength since joining the championship two years ago, and should be very proud of what they’ve achieved.

“In the last 12 months we’ve worked closely with Sheffield United on two successful bids for major international sporting competitions in 2021 – the UEFA Women’s Football Championships and the Rugby League World Cup – which will put the city and the club in the world’s spotlight. It’s fitting that the Blades will now make a move into what many believe is the world’s leading football league and we wish them every success as they take on this next challenge.”

Judge for yourself the comparable treatment of us & them and still maintain there's no agenda at play.

Seals it for me ... having been lane multiple times and witness fan saftey all the online reports of trouble versus our ground then you read this!!!

The one good thing with the Prohibition Notice in force is the reduced number of police on duty on match days at Hillsborough. This, in turn, should see release officers for wider policing and will no doubt lead to a marked reduction in car crime along Herries Road and it’s feeder streets.  Every cloud and all ...

There’s no agenda.  Absolutely not.  We’re most certainly not being discriminated against.  Absolutely not.

Randomly have a look at https://mobile.twitter.com/sypiag

We are the independent advisory group for South Yorkshire Police, dedicated to improving football relationships between supporters and SYP in the county.

The look at the fourth tweet down.  It’s a retweet.  Very independent indeed.

One thing local politicians CRAVE is power.

I notice in most wards the winning margins are not huge. We have a huge fan base that could feasibly have an impact on local election results, IF people feel strongly enough & can be  arsed. Maybe just the threat of it could make them consider things a bit more deeply.

One thing local politicians HATE is controversy / embarrassment.

The local politicians have had it all there own way over the Sag issue.

Maybe see what the Norwich fans point of view is to Mothersole’s gushing endorsement of the unwashed. Maybe a few Norwich fans expressing THEIR first hand experience of the ultimate safe haven of Bramall Lane either on Social media or in direct correspondence to the Fuhrer himself. Especially the guy who was in hospital for days on end.

May or may not benefit us directly but would possibly bring some parity and concentrate their minds.

It beggars belief what is happening. There are limited incidents on Leppings Lane, as there are at any ground. When you look at statistics and not someone’s subjective opinion, Sheffield United has twice as many arrests at Bramall Lane as we did Hillsborough in 17/18 season. They also had away fans being assaulted and hospitalised after the game outside the away end. Since SYP lies were uncovered and they were given the blame for 1989, they have done everything they can to make it seem like the stadium was the issue. They are now saying that the concourse is unsafe, leading to people not in the know believing the ground is unsafe, thus taking the blame away from our incompetent police force and onto someone else. It is a complete joke, at every ground across the country home fans and away fans will always come across each other. If it does not happen on Leppings Lane it would happen at the tram stop. We are being treated differently to any other club in the league. However I do not see where our appeal goes, SYP will always back their decision as it suits their lies and smears agenda.

Interesting points and which could influence any retrial - that Hillsborough and the LL end in particular, was and still is ‘unmanageable’ from a crowd safety point of view and that Duckenfield was simply left standing when the music stopped....

Radio Sheffield news have just said Sheffield City Council are still not happy with the 'crowd control' at Hillsborough and there may be more action taken.  Whatever that means!

It may be that we are forced to attend a full council meeting which are held on Fridays and are open to the public. We can make a little noise too !
