Imagine though if we did it this season when we least expect it. That would sum football right up and is what makes it great.

Certainly would some up football.

Be a huge surprise.

Though as Warnock types often prove... get a team ethic running through the side you can achieve more than the sum of the parts is on paper

This thread should be locked since it is blatantly untrue, fake news, baloney, poo poo whatever.

By all means come on here and blame all the worlds ills on Carlos, lament Brights miss at Wembley and rightly diagnose Wim Jonk as the evil genius behind our demise.... but dint outright lie!

THIS.  Was stated on RS as well but it's not true.  4 straight wins 96-7 is 12 points from first 4 games.

Yes and unfortunately the dark side are demonstrating this too.

10 points from 6 games so far this season. 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses: Exactly the same as we had in 91/92, 04/05, 10/11, 11/12 and 14/15.

As has been rightly pointed out, we won our first 4 games in 96/97 but then lost the next 2 so we had 12 points after 6 games that season.

However, our best start to a league season since 90/91 was actually in the dreadful 03/04 season where we had 13 points after 6 matches, with 4 wins, 1 draw and only 1 loss.

So, utter testicles from RS if they said this!

They were talking about our starts to seasons in the second tier, so only 14/15 is applicable from the ones you've mentioned - and even then we had 9 points after 6 games: 2 wins, 3 draws and 1 defeat.

There is no more reason to say we've made it now than there was to say we'd blown in after the 1st 3 games.

10 points from the 6 games is decent and I reckon anyone on here would have taken that before season started after we signed no one and the cloud of FFP.

Imagine though if we did it this season when we least expect it. That would sum football right up and is what makes it great.

It would also go to prove categorically that as fans we know SFA!

Fair enough. And yes, just realised I miscalculated 14/15. We had 9 points after 6 games.

It’s wrong to just single out Mr Farrell like that. Have you no compassion?
