Herefordowl79
Don’t know if he was ever considered for the Job before Jos but he is exactly the type of manager we now need. Championship experience, brilliant results on a small budget, sells players for healthy profits and replaces them easily. All the attributes we should be looking for. Has an attachment to the club, albeit not a great one but his managerial record really does speak for itself. For me JL is coming up as a bit of a fraud on a big salary Edited August 19, 2018 by Herefordowl79

Add to that Adam Reach getting injured in prematch warmup and then the fans favourite Hutchinson running onto the pitch, bringing down a player, giving away a penalty, and then going off at half time. matt_johno43
The one thing i would say on this is Brentford as a club have a system that runs right from the owners dowm through the club. A manager for them is replacable as are players and are only signed if its correct. It requires patience and forgiving fan base which in my experience is we would struggle as some still see us as something we are not. It is a totally different set up to what we have at wednesday so we could possibly bring smith in but im not sure he would have the desired affect. Sorting the culture of the club out and deciding what our identity for lack of a better word should be our priority for the foreseable future. As convincing the likes of Bannan and FF that this is our plan and this is the style we want would go a long way to securing them. No mattwr what they have said players arent going to just tread water because they have got some mates at the club. Now the embargo seems to be going in the right direction this should be the next port of call for DC IMO and that doesnt just come by changing head coaches all the time.

That's the truth. Much as I'd love Deano at S6, he has prospered within an innovative and well defined system. We don't have that. After a couple of bad results we'd be calling for his head....... cowl
Seriously, Dean Smith would have to be mental to leave what he has at Brentford to come and work for DC. Brentford have got a proper set-up, and more to the point, an actual plan. What have we got?

Quist
Its the Brentford scouting network we need. I accept he is a good manager but not sure he would swap Brentford for us at the minute. Jos has been dealt ashocking hand. I give the guy credit for sticking to task and trying his best.
Taximark
Brentford are a club thats doing things the right way , scout players properly and sell them on for millions profit, its even harder for them too living in the shadows of chelsea and fulham up the road but you have to give them credit on how they have grown with the times. Envious.
Swiss Toni
It's not just their manager though is it, it's their recruitment too. You have to be able to afford to being the whole lot in, unfortunately we're not.
Stoop
Dean Smith isn’t the answer Wednesday need a big personality as manager to be successful. Someone who the players believe in and the fans can get behind Im not doubting that JL is a good manager, his record in Germany is decent. It’s unfortunate that he’s been thrown into a league he knows nothing about, with a group of players he knows nothing about, and he’s expected to do the job with both hands tied behind his back Mick McCarthy is the ideal man for us for the next 2 or 3 years imo
Bassetts Allsorts
No chance of him leaving Brentford to come here and work for Chansiri.

It's a mystery innit Yeah....he has been dealt a $hit hand of that there is no doubt, but come on ……….the guy has all the charisma of a damp cushion and his reaction to a shambles like that was to …..well...……...just stand and watch silently with no emotion whatsoever. Dean Smith was still barking out instructions and encouragement when the game was already won.

People need to buckle up because this has a long way to run before things get better . Edited August 19, 2018 by Earlsfieldowl
room0035
Until DC can admit to himself he is making a complete clusterfuck of things nothing will change. Only way anything will happen is if the fans stop bailing DC out with mistake after mistake. We are only going one way with this bloke in charge, down and out. He has taken a club in the cusp of the big time into a team £50m in debt with a squad full of journey men and kids making fans pay £40 to watch dross week in week out.
