Thorniley

Recommended Posts

But when he came on it looked like we changed to a 4-4-2 formation and looked a lot better with Reach on the left....full marks to the young man Thorniley, hope he gets a start to see him in that position for 90 mins , possibly again Sunderland next week??

He’s ready is Thorniley. Not sure on all the other young players but he is. Think we should get him in the team and persist with him.

We shouldn’t play him left wing back as he’s a defender. I would consider changing the system and go to a back 4 and play him left back with a view to putting him in the centre next season.

notice how he always want to put a hand on oppositoon players and exert ohysical presence.

notice how as a young lad he is gesturing to seasoned professionals regarding position and positivity.

See how he wants to go thro some foooker...?

Dad a RL player so it will be ingrained in him.

Get him in.

Captain material.

They all laughed when they made Adams captain at Arsenal.

This is a REALLY good kid

Solid defender but not a wing back. Saying that we were so much more solid down that side once the fantastic Mr Fox did us a favour and injured himself. Fox should have his contract paid up and sent on his way

This exactly right.

1. Thorniley was solid defensively today and did himself no harm at all regards future selection.

2. The fact we aren’t commenting on his lack of attacking prowess in the wing back role says more about Fox’s performance than his own.

Fox should never ever start again.

Really impressive defensively when he came on. Looks solid. But does not get himself forward so much, so if he is to play there regularly, then someone else will have to supply the forward thrust and crosses from that side, not that Fox did much of that or anything else today.
