" hope that you get what you deserve"

Depending on the mind set of the person saying that it really can mean two very different things

He will be referring to promotion to the premier league or the appointment of  garymegson as our manager.  If the latter happens then the former will.

I still remember his finest game in my opinion,in the playoffs away at Brighton, booked early on and absolutely outstanding, good luck to him

Agree, both Loovens and Lees were booked in the first 10 minutes or so, had great games in what was the bloomin' Alamo for the first 25 mins yet not once did I have a heart in mouth moment that a second yellow card was coming for one of them.

How can anyone use the term ‘great’ in relation to Loovens time with us.

He has been a decent 2nd tier centre back, no more or less.

None of our current players get anywhere near ‘great’.

It's relative isn't it.

There will be supporters on here not old enough to have ever seen us in the top flight.

To them Loovens might the best centre half they've seen play for us.

I assume people are talking in relative terms. Y'know, as Wednesday fans. Of the current era. Not Brazil supporters from 1975.

I couldn’t go to Wembley.

We were an absolute shambles at the back when he signed and I like many saw it as a panic buy, but almost immediately with a thrown together defence we looked organised and solid that was mainly down to loovens. The next three seasons with a regular partner and a better team we set clean sheet records and were very good defensively, loovens despite not being the best player in the back line was the lynchpin as the only leader and organiser.

he has been great for Wednesday and if we could find a 25 year old loovens mark 2 he would be the ideal summer recruitment
