You can dismiss Clough all you like, but if we're considering Moyes, Lambert and Karanka you can bet we'll be considering Clough too.

And as I said, sometimes the less obvious suggestions are the best.

How did Bryan Robson work out since you've been scouting the pigs lol

What about Nigel Adkins?

Seriously, I don't think Clough is good enough for you. He's not up to the task, too much pressure.

He also definitely wouldn't get on with Chansiri. Clough wants to be in charge of everything and do it his way.

Why? Three guys who've managed in the Premier League.. and one who hasn't.

After the debacle at Manyoo and the Mackems, Moyes needs another 'difficult' job like a hole in the head. It will be a very polite 'no thanks'.

Lambert needs to get back on the horse at a big club and could be up for it. Having said that working under dictortorial foreign owners didn't go well for him at Wolves, so he will be very cautious about DC.

Don't much about Karanka but I would have thought he could get something decent in Spain/Portugal. Those who accuse Clough of being defensive should check out this guy's record!

True he got Boro up, but a woeful lack of inclination to attack in any PL games, brought them straight back down.

My money is on another left field foreigner that no-one will have heard of. How many on here suggested CC as a replacement for Gray?

Not seen his name mentioned yet but I think he'd be a great option for us should CC get the boot.

Sometimes the less obvious candidates are the best options.

He got Burton up and has done well to keep them as competitive as they are, punching well above their weight. And what we need is someone who can be trusted to get us punching somewhere near ours. If that happened then top 6 would be highly likely, and that's something we'd all surely take at this point.

He managed United, so what. He was harshly sacked. He had them playing some exciting stuff and did well to get them to the play offs, not to mention the cup runs.

He's managed a big club before in Derby (not as big as us I know) so that's another plus.

He seems like a solid character with no real flaws, someone who won't let petty agendas and stubbornness get in the way of doing what's right.

He also seems to have a great scouting network looking at what he's got for his money at Burton. Value for money is certainly something we can.... improve.

If CC is to go let's get someone who'll get the best out of what we have, play positive football, never settle for a draw and show real ambition to get us promoted ASAP.

That man for me is Nigel Clough.
