He is also said to be a target for rivals Nottingham Forest, with the forward netting 19 goals in 26 league appearances so far this season.

Its being abused big time , but nothing will be done about it .

Newcastle are a very different case to almost everyone who has been and will be relegated.

The assets they came down with were far and away too good to be relagated and as a result had massive transfer fees recouped.

I havent kept kept tabs on it, but I'm fairly certain that they are in net profit this season on transfer dealings. For them to go out and spend isn't really abusing the parachute payments, but more so the fact that the established premiership teams are asset rich and as long as previously bought well they can offload those assets.

It was a late night at Bodymoor Heath last night!

Aston Villa’s Head of Medicine and Sports Science Dan Donachie has teasingly tweeted as much - with incoming signings imminent.

Villa supporters are waiting on the completion and confirmation of the signings of Barnsley duo James Bree and Conor Hourihane, with the former expected to be announced today.

Aston Villa have had their opening bid of £750,000 for highly-rated Bury youngster Jacob Bedeau rejected.

The 17-year-old defender is being courted by a number of the game’s top clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool

I'd like to see us spend a bit of money on some exciting young prospects of this ilk - we're upgrading the youth academy and now it needs the quality prospects to match. Hirst is obviously one but it would be nice to have quite a few, Lonchar, Penney and O'Grady look decent too.

MARSHALL TO WOLVES?

More news from Wolves, who are considering making an increased offer for Blackburn’s versatile Ben Marshall.

Sky sources understand Paul Lambert has already seen one bid rejected for the former Leicester and Stoke man.

The offer was in the region of £1.3m for Marshall, who is a free agent in the summer after recently turning down a new contract offer. It’s understood Blackburn want £2m.

Could be our cheaper CH alternative? Think hes been playing central this season.

Like others I want to see us sign a proven performer in the English leagues, too many of our foreigners havent worked out.

Still gutted we arent signing CH as he wouldve been perfect and instead is going to scummy Villans.

BARROW IN TOON LINK

Newcastle are interested in signing Swansea’s Mo Barrow, according to Sky sources.

Swansea are willing to allow the winger to leave but a loan move is most likely at this stage.

Barrow last played for Swansea on New Year’s Eve in a 3-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth and has made 19 appearances for the club this season.

He’s been pushed further down the pecking order following the arrival of Luciano Narsingh from PSV.
