Scores one in ten, and 9 in 77 for Southampton. Cant say I remember him, but that sounds great, and it is very typical of our recnt approach, ie players deemed not quite up to the Prem. mrgund
8 foot 6 Dutch defender Jos Hooiveld is a Dutch footballer who plays as a centre back for AIK in Allsvenskan. Hooiveld is known for his strong physical performances and is a former clog manufacturer. Born in Zeijen, Drenthe, he started his career with Eredivisie club Heerenveen in 2003, before moving to Eerste Divisie side Zwolle, on loan, between 2004 and 2006. In 2006 he moved to Austrian Erste Liga side Kapfenberger SV and one year later moved to Finnish side Inter Turku. During his time there he won both the 2008 Veikkausliiga and 2008 League Cup as well as being named the defender of the year twice and the world's tallest Dutch man four times. In 2009 Swedish side AIK Stockholm signed him as a backup lumberjack and he won the 2009 Allsvenskan and the 2009 Svenska Cupen and finished a close third at the Goteborg all-pro wood chopping championships. He moved to Scottish Premier League side Celtic in January 2010 but after one year was loaned out to Danish Superliga club Copenhagen after he refused to eat a fried Irn Bru bar topped pizza crunch. He then moved on loan to Championship club Southampton shortly after the start of the 2011–12 season before joining them permanently in December 2011 where he parked his Dutch cutter sailboat in the marina. He was often seen pruning the flowers in the marina, some say he was trying to recapture his log cutting youth. He was a regular throughout the season helping them win promotion to the Premier League. He spent the final year of his Southampton contract on loan to Norwich City and Millwall, where he would regularly fight the rampaging hoards of home supporters in his bare chest.[4] In the summer of 2015 he once again signed for Swedish side AIK to resurrect his ambitions to become Dutch lumberjack World Champion. Sonny
Would be happy if he is cheap reliable cover. Don't know anything about him though. People seem to be forgetting that Lees and Hutchinson are quality, and Loovens was top notch last season too... assuming that he will get fit again. I would prefer stronger back up but maybe the plan is that will be Loovens and we are after a 4th choice. Loovens was a vital part of a brilliant defence last season. Don't see why we wouldn't be more than happy with him as third choice.

striker
Rather have had Sasso back as a shirt filler TBH, knows the team and the way we play and shown he is capable of filling in. Need a first team quality CB to compete with Hutch and Lees ideally.

H2Owl
We've done some great business this summer. First Fletcher then Abdi and now a clog manufacturer.
Sgt Wednesday
If this does happen its a very experienced squad filler. I fully expect us to sign a partner for Tom Lees but we still need cover in the short term.

The problem is the 4th choice may get called upon more often than you think as both hutch and Loovens are injury prone It's a fair point. Big season for Hutch!
