Joined Southend then 18 months later he had joined Barnsley. I can remember Tommy Spurr almost kicking him into stand down at Southend and he went crying to ref like a little baby. At Hillsborough, playing for Chesterfield (not barnsley) he did a dreadful "tackle" on someone and was roundly booed everytime he got the ball afterwards. I remember this with clarity because Chesterfield fans rang POG accusing us of racism. As to his career, well, he's made a career of having short spells at non descript clubs in the lower leagues, never showing any consistency. Sheffield doesn't make enough song and dance about it being basically the Birth place of modern football, The Adelphi hotel etc.. If it was Liverpool,Leeds,London etc that could lay claim to the oldest football club you wouldn't stop hearing about it!! Blunts are blunt - so no surprise there innit.
