Lap of appreciation

Recommended Posts

I stayed to clap people like Westwood, Lees, Loovens and McGugan, the rest I couldn't care less about. So many players stealing a living at the minute. My Dad came to the game with us yesterday, he said he can't remember being so bored at a Wednesday match, £32 for the privlidge as well.

The worst season at home I can remember in a while.

All down basically to our wonderful coach.

If he think he can get away with playing like this next season he may as well empty his desk now.

And no I didn't stay.

going to Watford next week but am ready for a spell without football.

Where the flip did everyone go?

Yes they played poo today but it's still our highest finish in how long. It could be the last time we see half of them and don't get me wrong that's probably for the best but they're still a bunch of men that have worked their socks off for our club.

Am I wrong to think that the coaching staff and the players deserved a bit more after the final whistle?

I wasn't hanging around to clap players I wish didn't play for us... Got home in no time , winner !

I only go to home games and I can't understand our away form because we have been awful most of the season at home. Yesterdays performance was as bad as anything I've seen all season. I can't remember Taylor making a save or a shot i the second half. No way was I hanging around any longer to get stuck in horrific traffic to show my appreciation for the totally inept home fixture performances.

We have to remember that this season is the SECOND best we have had in TWENTY years with a chep squad and no decent strikers.  Overall Gray has performed a miracle, but the problem is the home form is beyond dire and his tactics are boring.  I'm really starting to wonder whether he will be here next season.

Is it only TWO goals from open play at home this season?  Only 16 goals scored and FIVE of those were penalties!  You can

understand why the fans aren't happy.

Finished 9th 06-07 and 12th 08-09 ;)

In 14th nah and can't see us finishing higher, a point at Watford is best we can hope for. Disappointed not to finish top half but roll on next year

I left at the FT whistle as I normally do.

I would have waited for the lap of appreciation, but in previous seasons it has taken half an hour to get everybody off the pitch first.

I understand that they were back out much quicker today, but I couldn't be bothered to wait and see.

I hung around as did a lot of the crowd, as the team left the pitch the tannoy said keep off the pitch the team are coming back out , I can only assume they were waiting for their scummy fans to be escorted away first cos it seems to have taken ages by which time half of the people who were waiting left .

Can't blame them, dreadful non event of a flip flop match where the most excitement was working out whether it was a penalty or not

5 wins and 16 goals in 23 games at home this season, hardly inspiring to stay behind and say thanks for that. Especially with a bunch of scrubbers in the away end singing away after we caved in. I clapped them off the field and then was quite happy with a swift exit from the ground.

How many of you have received a round of applause when you left work on Friday?

I was toying with the idea of hanging around to thank the players for delivering the most boring home season I've ever had to endure but then I thought better of it and decided to leave as the extra time board went up so that I'd beat the crowds leaving.

a couple of your previous quote TT about LUFC's support.

“In fact given their level of support and apparent disloyalty of their fans†and â€œI'd also add, in general Leeds fans tend to be very disloyal,â€

This from the guy who couldn't be arsed waiting around ten/fifteen minutes to applaud your team and coaching staff for achieving one of its highest finishes for 15 years.

Dear dear.

Lap of apology would have been more apt.

While the points total has been good the performances on the pitch have all to often been below average, I cannot believe anyone isn't worried by this.

Player of the season was the goalkeeper with a centre half coming in second.

A season rife with keeping the defensive shape and playing in straight lines at the expense of getting men forward to support the front 1/2.

We haven't won anything or even avoided relegation.  There is no "tradition" of a lap of honour unless you've won something. It's a modern affectation.   We'd just not turned up against an awful Leeds side who beat us just by wanting it more. 5 wins in 23 games is appalling.  Most people are eagerly looking forward to next season and just wanted this one to be over.

Let's not exaggerate.

We've had seven higher finishes in the last 20 years.

We have come 14th, it's not a miracle.

What Brentford and Birmingham have achieved is a miracle.

People talk like we should have expected to come below Blackpool and Rotherham.

I stayed to applaud the lads. Yes they've frustrated on plenty of occasions this season, yes the performances have shibo at times. But in my opinion the vast majority of the time the effort has been there but many are just lacking in ability.

1. We had just lost to Leeds.

2. It was raining.

And the players went out and put an effort in which would have got fans sack if they put the same in at work.Christ people think they play for nothing for us well they get paid bloody well.More than we do.It is the first time i have not stayed behind,It was my way of sticking 2 fingers up to them .NO EFFORT.Am i glad the season is over.
