Guest mkowl
I can concur from the Kop it looked like he kicked it but presumed the fact the keeper picked it up and didn't look worried that it was an optical illusion
KivoOwl
I was on the Kop and saw quite clearly he kneed it
mike312
I sit on the kop and it looked like he kicked it that's why we were going mad.
Leaping Lannys Perm
I assume it wasn't a pass back as I didn't feel compelled to react at all. The thought of a backpass wasn't even in my mind.
lt109
I thought the players reaction was probably a bit of a clue
BIG D
I thought this was going to be about Maguires free kick.
Groundhopping Owl
From my spot on the Kop it looked like he kicked it. Wind yer necks in. Exactly, if you were on the kop it was difficult to tell without excellent eyesight, not sure why people are going so barmy about it.

TeddySWFC
It's not that people don't know the rules, it's that from the kop it looked as though he used his foot as he had his back to us, simple misundaerstanding
daleblue
You can use any body part apart from your foot. no you cant
Bannofan
People do know the rules, it's just that some people - including me - didn't see it come off his thigh .
roaminowl
It's not a f*cking back pass if a player hits it back to the keeper with his thigh Just to clear that up for everyone at the match today It's a good job the keeper picked it up, otherwise it would have gone behind for a rouge. Agree as well, we were top of kop and it did look like he kicked it
mark77
You can use any body part apart from your foot. Not quite. The rule is above the knee is ok, so a shin back would also be a foul. Was cringeworthy at the game though, stunned how many people don't know the rule!

Was cringeworthy at the game though, stunned how many people don't know the rule! As pointed out it wasn't about not knowing the rule, its cos half of us are frigging blind and thought he kicked it!!!
Bluesteel
Yes It should be mandatory for all fans to read the rule book from back to front before coming along to support the team...

31Dec1966
Nothing to do with the rules, everyone round me on the kop would swear it was kicked with his foot.
alanharper
I saw clearly from North it was with his knee/thigh but can understand why someone on Kop couldn't tell. However, despite the players making no protest whatsoever and getting on with it the Kop chants a minute later when the ref was down that end of "you don't know what you're doing" were cringeworthy.
