Guest ka58
No idea mate but I doubt it was only one person. Bryan Robson said - "we shouldn't worry about who's going to replace lineker, we should worry about who's going to partner David Hirst"

Eightace
Trouble these days is the big teams just take the good players from you. We must have paid competitive wages back in the premier but these days we couldnt keep a player like Hirsty. He would go to Man City for 200k a week. Tea Baggins
Yeah I can think of a few lads who have high profile fathers in the game and not cut the mustard. Charlie Sheringham and Devante Cole to name two off the top of my head. Lets just forget about George for the time been.

lesbarbeux
Seriously though I wonder if we will ever see another like Hirsty in the blue and white stripes. Not that I am old enough to remember him but presumably you have to go back to Derek Dooley for any sort of comparison. Bronco...probably a more apt comparison. I'd venture to say that he was arguably even more powerful and explosive than Hirsty....dread to think what havoc those two in their primes and in tandem would have created. I thought he might come up. My dad rated him but I only saw him for the reserves I think when the ban was lifted.
Woodseats Owl
Being called George and coming from Barnsley do you think they'll call him Judd ? Edited April 16, 2014 by Woodseats Owl
Dagmeister
I thought he might come up. My dad rated him but I only saw him for the reserves I think when the ban was lifted. Layne was more powerful than Hirst and had a shot like a cannon but Hirst was a far more complete player.

danblakemore
There's only been one player that has a resemblance of Hirsty for me in blue and white and that wad Connor Wickham.
