You get numb to it after a while at Hillsborough. preposterously bad decision not to apply the laws of the game to send Barnes off. Easiest decision he was presented with all night and bottled it. You do sometimes look at at decisions like that and think he must have been paid off. There is simply no explanation for the decision. Dan™ Posted April 10 Share Posted April 10 He made some baffling decisions towards the end, not booking a player who he (or his assistant) saw throw one of our players to the floor off the ball being a key highlight. Overall he was far from the worst though. There was a strange incident after the final whistle though, as one of Norwich's backroom staff went to shake hands with him and refused to let go while agressively giving him a piece of his mind. Horrific For me worst was V Coventry he seemed to absolutely everything wrong for both teams, including giving them a free kick and booking their player for the foul Next Rebecca Welsh in any game she been involved in. Gib Posted April 10 Share Posted April 10 I actually thought he was doing a good job in the first half. Let a lot of fouls go and the game flowed. not sure what happened to make him change approach in the 2nd half, as every minor touch on a Norwich player was a free kick. Smith got no protection and two arm pushes in the back weren’t deemed a free kick to us. The Ashley Barnes incident summed him up….absolutely shocking as it was exactly the same as what Vaulks did. Worthing_owl Posted April 10 Share Posted April 10 We have had a lot worse this season, not saying he was good, but seen really poor refs.
