Doncaster Sack Manager

Recommended Posts

TBF he is just one of those managers that drift around clubs without really doing much of note - yes he got Hull promoted after he got them relegated but that apart a real nondescript managerial career

Those types just keep getting recycled for some reason

He took Donny to the play offs before moving on to Hull though. Surprised he'd want to go back there now though rather than wait for another opportunity at a league one club.

Rovers chairman David Blunt said: "We are delighted to secure the return of Grant to the club.

"His previous season here was one of the most thrilling in recent memory, with a breathless brand of attacking, aggressive football that carried us into the brink of a play-off final."

Sneaked into 6th with 73 points (Moore actually got the same 1.59 points per game average with them the following year in the Covid curtailed season but they "finished" 9th on ppg), 12 points behind 5th place, and then lost in the play off semi final. Doesn't sound all that thrilling and breathless to me...

I think anyone getting donny to top end of league one is impressive tbh. They were a penalty shootout away from Wembley and were competing with the likes of Charton, Sunderland ect.

Because he’s a decent manager. Donny fans will be well happy with this

Journeyman with an achingly mediocre record

Was trash at Peterborough and they had to punt him to get their season on track
