I still think we are weaker than last season

Not that impressed with any of the signings apart from the lad from Cardiff.  We look static and one dimensional, no pace introduced or out and out skill.

The two lads signed over the last two days haven't impressed the fans of their last club especially the lad from Blackpool in fact they are delighted he's left.

We need to up the quality or a top six place looks very difficult.

Convince me I'm wrong please.  Getting worried.

You’re wrong.

Hutch - replaced with Ihiekwe (Team of the season)

Luongo - replaced with Vaulks (A better player)

Berahino - replaced with Smith (Goal machine)

Dunkley - replaced with Heneghan (Fitter)

NML - blew ridiculously hot and cold and will maybe be replaced by Wilks (Goal machine)

BPF - replaced by Stockdale (Golden glove winner)

Shodipo - always inured

Gibson - always injured

Storey - (Iorfa is back)

Dean - (I've got nothing here, I want him back)

T John-Jules - played 9 mins

Plenty of time left, we are cruising.

who ever laughed at this post wants banning.

perfect summary 👌🏻

Im feeling the same. Might well be wrong but....

The Rotherham lads and Vaulkes signings feel like the Boyd and Jones signings from Carlos3. Supposed tried and trusted cheat codes for promotion because they have done it before.

It doesnt always work like that though.

I thought BPF NML and Mas particularly were quality at this level.

We seem like a very prosaic workmanlike squad at the moment Bannan apart.

Hopefully we are the Wigan and Rotherham unglamorous type winning machine

Summed it up better than I did.

Not replaced Mendz Lang at his best.  A glaring omission hopeful as someone has suggested our signings haven't ended and we can rectify this.

When was he at his best. I think I missed that game

Think we've done alright but if we do get promoted (we won't under moore)

We will need to rebuild again

None of the signings are really championship standard signings

We've signed good league 1 players

Another thread to sneak in a dig at Moore.

You are deranged.

Fair enough... Why?

Only joking. I think we have more balance in the squad right now (on paper at least) but time will tell I guess. Quite often it’s not about the quality of player but what each player gives to the team and the ethos - just look at Man Utd as a good example.

I kind of agree with that

what I’d say is we have a better squad to compete over the season and we’ve fixed a lot of wrongs last year

we are now stronger in both boxes especially at set pieces

we have better pace away the back

we have more flexibility to change players and rest them

i described this squad earlier as just needing the cherry putting on jabs by that I think the only thing we need now is pace and width in the final third and maybe one more defensive midfielder I still think will hugely miss luongo

Two players like wilks Pacey attackers that can play out wide finishes this team for me then it looks like a squad that’s capable of winning the league

without that pace or width I kind of agree even though we now have options if playing Johnson and windass further up out wide we still need more

I say it’s a it’s a lot better squad. Think people are underestimating how good a signing Vaulks is. And we’ve actually add a cf that’s scored over 20 goals

Did people watch last season with their eyes shut?

Out wide is not a problem, Jack Hunt and Marvin Johnson are the 2 best fullbacks in this division.
We certainly didn't lack creativity  - We have Bannan and Byers pulling strings in the middle and Hunt/Johnson out wide with finally someone to aim for with crosses in Smith.

The problem out wide was we had no competition or backup ( Signing James has fixed that at LWB and i think Palmer now is the back up RWB)

GK - Stockdale & Dawson, 3rd choice will be either one of the young lads or a new squad filler.
RWB - Jack Hunt & Palmer (Patterson can play RWB)
CB - Ihiekwe Iorfa Famewo Heneghan (Palmer can slot in if needed)
LWB Johnson, James and Brown

CM - Vaulks Bannan FDB Byers Adeniran  Alex Hunt (Patterson can slot in as well if needed)

ST - Gregory Smith Paterson Windass Sow

I'd say we are looking very strong and i think we are stronger than last year, a few more signings and i think we will be sorted, teams in this division would die for our squad depth currently.
Possibly see another RWB in however we do have cover in Palmer and Patto at a push, i think we see another CB come in maybe a CM and the strikers if playing with a 2 we will need another and bin Sow off.

For this stage of pre season i think our squad looks healthy a few more additions and i think it's been a tremendous summer with top recruitment.

We had plenty of movement and creativity last season and those players are still here, what we lacked was height and grit to see games out which seems has been addressed. I still think there’s another CH to come in,  1 or 2 creative wide players and possibly a pacy striker to offer further variety. It’s looking very positive. UTO

Just a heads up we are in league one, not the championship?? We HAVE to get out this league asap then worry about signing championship players when we back there ! I’m sure moore would love to build a good young side that will evolve over a few yrs but the pressure from above and not least the fan base will not allow that to happen.
